Detailed Reviews
I have to admit the rooms are a little jaded or even old fashioned, but they contain everything you need. Who doesn't like the idea of drifting off to sleep (and waking in the morning) to the sound of yacht masts gently clinking in the breeze. I couldn't get over the amazing sea and marina view from my cool, shady dual-aspect balcony. If you want to eat, shop or make merry close by there are a multitude of options within yards and there's a fully stocked supermarket 5 mins walk away. It even has it's own bakery attached as is the French way. You need a car to get round the island but I walked to 3 local beaches, 2 of which were deserted. No sunbeds and umbrellas though if that's your thing. There's enough administrative support that you don't feel neglected. Martine or Veronique spend a few hours each day (except Sunday) in reception and towels and bins are changed twice a week. I'm thinking of booking another trip back next year. I loved it!

It was wonderful to explore the island from this location St. Francois was perfect place. It had many restaurants and cafes close by as well as some shops, you could not ask for a better place to be on the island. It did not have a beach or pool within walking distance so you have to drive to beach but you would have to drive on this island to get around any way the taxis are almost nonexistent. The place had a wonderful balcony overlooking the marina, and a full kitchen. They had AC in bedroom but the breeze from the open doors and windows were great for the other rooms. They sprayed for bugs obviously since we did not see any mosquitoes, but a dying roach only one that whole week in the place. But you could not beat the location and the place was clean and it was heavenly on the balcony in evenings looking out over the marina and the water.

A very pleasant welcome when we arrived, both people were very available.
Very nice view of the marina, very quiet and relaxing location.
The person doing the maintenance listens and we didn't miss anything.
The apartment was very large and the two bedrooms were pleasant. Good bedding, and large beds.
We had a great time.
This residence being for sale, certain modifications would be expected to bring it up to date...
We were practically alone in the residence for two weeks...

There has been an ongoing problem with water in Saint Anne and Saint Francois, where the resort is located. Water is never available at night and some days we had no water at all while in the unit. We had to buy our own drinking water as the water was unfit to drink. One couple we talked to had mixed up the bought water we unit water and the wife was sick for a week. We had to constantly refill water bottles when we did have water so we could use that water to flush and wash dishes, after we boiled it. We were never informed by RCI or the resort in advance of our arrival or when we made the exchange. We would never have gone to this resort had we know of the water problems. Furniture was old, uncomfortable and he couch was missing the backrest cushions. The balcony had rotten wood and joists and was unsafe to step on from the bedroom door. Part of the steel support frame for the balcony was severely rusted. This resort in no way deserves to be classified as a gold crown resort. The shower head leaks and gets water on the floor, faucets are so old much of the paint has been worn off. Cheap ceiling fan did not work. Air conditioning usage was limited to 8 P.M. to 8 A.M. Air conditioning unit was only in the bedroom. Sofa in reception area had severely depressed seat area, some with torn lattices.

The building itself is designed to have the appearance of a ship with porthole windows and a roofline that slightly resembles a sail. Our room faced East to the entrance to the harbor so we sat and drank our morning coffee while watching the boats leave. Mesmerizing!
The location along the boardwalk was an ideal from which to wander and there were plenty of nice restaurants nearby.
You will need a car to visit the gorgeous beaches north of the resort.
The staff was friendly but a warning about Guadalope before you go! It's a French-speaking resort for folks from France and Canada so you may go the whole week without meeting a soul who speaks English! After a while it was exhausting trying our best to use our high school English to get by. So while we love the resort , the marina, etc, it was a challenge. (And we've traveled all over Europe and never felt so lost!!)
The other smaller warnings I would have for travelers are these:
1. First you are exhausted by the time you get there so try to arrive before dark as the hotel is very difficult to find. It's on a main road but set way back with no road sign so we went by it several times before we actually got out and walked to it! And asking directions there is so difficult since no one speaks English. Our nerves were frazzled!
2. Bring your own supplies. They did not provide the essentials we've gotten every where else, such as hand soap, shampoo, paper towels, coffee filters, etc! They reluctantly gave us a couple of hand soaps!
I hope you don't get discouraged though as you can have a wonderful time on this enchanting island if you take my warnings to heart!!

We stayed here at the beginning of August for 2 weeks. We arrived at about 4pm to be told that our room wasn't ready. The lady on reception explained that she did have a room ready but as we were staying for 2 weeks she wanted to give us a bigger room. That was fine with us so we left our luggage with her and went for a drink. The room was ready when we returned and we were glad that we had waited. It was room 2 and was on two floors with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The bedroom was large with a super king sized bed, wardrobe, with a safe inside, bedside tables and chest of drawers. On the landing there was a sofa which could be used as a bed. The bathroom was large with two sinks and a deep bath with a shower over the top. Downstairs there was a kitchen with kettle, toaster, coffee machine and a dishwasher (tablets provided by reception). The lounge was spacious and lead onto the balcony which again was large with a table, 4 chairs, a sort of lounger/chair and a clothes dryer. The bedroom had air conditioning which came on at 6pm and went off at 8 am. The lounge had a fan which we never used as we always had the patio doors open and usually sat out there if we were at the apartment. On reading the book provided about the apartment block it stated that the rooms would be serviced on a Tuesday and Thursday. This didn't happen and after arriving on the Saturday, the room was serviced on Wednesday and then not again until the following Tuesday. The area that the Green Blue Houses is situated in is beautiful with a marina having plenty of places to eat and drink and a few shops to peruse. The supermarket (called the Casino) is a short walk away and is open every day - only until lunch time on a Sunday. We found eating and drinking out to be quite expensive but that didn't stop us from doing it as we were on holiday and we don't cook on holiday!! Although I don't think of myself as a fussy eater I did find it quite difficult to find things that I liked (although I didn't starve). There weren't many places that provided chicken dishes - which I do like - however most did pizzas and pasta. Not many of the eating places catered for small snack type lunches although on the way to the supermarket there were 2 where you could buy baguettes and other snack food. The weather was always warm although we did have 4 or 5 days when it rained continually so we weren't able to do anything other than sit on our balcony and ready - very relaxing. As this is only an apartment block, there is no swimming pool but a very short walk away, approx. 2 mins, there is a lovely little beach where we went when it wasn't raining and most of the time there was only the two of us there. Right by the beach there is a restaurant and they would bring drinks out onto the beach and we even had our lunch brought to us.
Not many people spoke English although we were able to get by with my limited school girl French - remembered from about 40 years ago! - the only thing we found difficult to understand was some of the food on the menus and try as they might some of the people couldn't get us to understand what they were. So if you are thinking of going I would suggest you try to find out as much as you can about what different food types are or take a dictionary with you.
One more thing before I go - when I go on holiday I like to know what type of shoes I should be taking with me as quite often I pack heels and then it is too steep or slippery to wear them. It is very flat around the marina and very suitable for either flat or heeled shoes. We would love to go back to Green Blue Houses as we both found it a very beautiful and relaxing part of the world,

Nicely located on the marina, which still isn't overly touristy. Convenient for local shops & fish market, several restaurants to choose from. The north facing rooms stay cooler and don't get the onshore breeze that sometimes springs up. Our one bedroom apartment was clean & tidy with everything we needed.
On street parking sounded (and looked) as if it would be a nightmare, but we never had problems finding a space.

We stayed at Green Blue Houses for our third visit January 18-25, 2014. This small resort with 22 apartments is more like a European apartment complex than a timeshare. The building is designed to have the appearance of a ship with port hole windows and nautical decor. We stayed in a one bedroom unit #3 that had a view of the Marina and open sea. The apartment had a small living room, kitchen with cook top, microwave oven and dishwasher. The bedroom and bath were upstairs. Air conditioning operates in the bedroom from 6pm until 8am. Wi-Fi is available for 5 Euros per week. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Be sure to bring converters if traveling from the US or Canada. We absolutely love this place and will definitely return.

My wife and I spent a week here (Saturday-Saturday) in June 2019. It was an RCI timeshare exchange. According to RCI, this has been a Gold Crown Resort for the last eleven straight years.
The location is perfect, set right over the marina. There are several restaurants, bars, sailing and scuba diving tour operators within strolling distance. The views from our room (#4) of the marina and the Caribbean Sea were beautiful (see my photographs).
Martine at the front desk was lovely, tolerating my pigeon French and sharing language tips. She allowed to extend our check out to suit our travel plans.
The actual apartment - despite clearly having a few new appliances; dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer - was a little tired. Though “in keeping”, the sofa was very thin and droopy (see photograph). The patio furniture was grubby. The towels were very thin. Only the bedroom had AC; the sitting room had a ceiling fan. The TV had just eight all-French language channels.
There was no proper shower - just a shower head in the bath. We had to kneel to shower.
We recommend that the resort provides a folder of in-room information for its guests.
There is street parking outside on a first-come, first-served basis. We parked easily, but we understand it is busier in January and February.
We explored both halves of the island (see my other posts) and had a very good week overall.
Guadeloupe was lovely, and safe. We recommend the island to you. Be prepared for the “issues” mentioned and you’ll have a great time. If I have assisted, please give me a “Helpful” vote. Thank you.

Green Blue Houses Review
I really don’t understand why RCI members’ comments have made this a Gold Crown resort. It’s nothing like the big, fancy resorts you might be familiar with, with their ‘resort feel’, multiple swimming pools, nicely laid out gardens, sweeping ocean and garden views, restaurants, pool activities, concierge, a nice lobby, room service, mini-shop, etc.
Here’s RCI’s definition of a "Gold Crown Resort®”: Select RCI® affiliated resorts are recognized as RCI Gold Crown Resort properties – the highest of the three RCI Award Designations. The RCI Gold Crown Resort award designates resorts that have met or exceeded specific standards in the areas of unit housekeeping, unit maintenance, hospitality and check-in/check-out procedures, and an evaluation of resort facilities, amenities and services."
We stayed at the Green Blue Houses in September 2016.
On the plus side: The location is very good – on the marina, close to restaurants and beaches (swimmable, and the water is very warm). There’s a very nice, long (long) series of several beaches located due EAST of the Green Blue apartments. It’s a 20 minute (2 km) walk to get there, along a well-defined road that skirts the golf course (Avenue de L’Europe) and then a small (100 yard) path, and is definitely worthwhile. Or, instead of walking to get there, you could drive or take a taxi to the “Au Colombo” restaurant or “Anse du Mancenillier.” This is different from the small, pleasant beach at the Base Nautique, which is a ten minute walk SOUTH of the property.
There’s a very good market nearby, called Hyper Casino, on Avenue de L’Europe.
However, on the downside (and this is where I take issue with the Gold Star rating):
It’s basically an apartment building, a place to sleep. We had a one bedroom apartment.
No swimming pool.
No restaurants.
No gardens.
Lobby hours are very limited (8:00 am – noon, six days a week, closed on Sunday)
Housekeeping service is just once a week.
The rooms and bathroom are simple, nothing fancy, but generally clean.
The air conditioning is only turned on between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 am. We were asked to keep the cold air in the bedroom, and to keep the door to the living area closed. This made it extremely hot and unpleasant. Actually, you have to keep the front door and the balcony door open to let a draft come through.
The WiFi is sporadic, both in the rooms, and in the lobby (where there is no air conditioning).
We stayed in room 6. The mattress has two very deep depressions - one on each side of the bed, so was very uncomfortable. The person at reception, Martine, said the mattress is due to be replaced in November 2016. I will be curious to see if there are reports of a poor mattress after that date. Incidentally, there is a TripAdvisor report about poor mattresses dated January 4, 2016, which states: "the mattresses are old and the pillows are older."
There are some older TripAdvisor reports about water problems in the building. We experienced the same in September 2016.
You'll need to buy shampoo, soap, coffee, sugar and coffee filters, since these are not provided.
SUMMARY: While the location is good, the “facilities, amenities and services” are not what you might expect elsewhere. To me, the designation “Gold Crown” should be a helpful way to identify RCI’s “best” resorts, and should help me identify resorts that are rather special. I always look very closely – both on the RCI website as well as TripAdvisor – before choosing a resort. But this experience reminds me that I need to look even more closely, and to remember that “Gold Crown” does not necessarily mean “top tier.”
I hope this is helpful.

There is washer dryer near front desk area and you must wait while it happens and it cost more than I thought worthwhile. YOu don't need much clothing and it's pretty casual laid back where you can wear things over again. Rinsed some things and hung to dry. I don't recall seeing hair dryers but I don't use them either.
