Our stay at Le Rotabas was thoroughly delightful. This small, charming family run hotel is located next door to the very large Club Med on Ste. Anne Beach. The hotel is simple, not a large luxurious "AI" as one finds so often these days. The family who runs the hotel takes great pride in making their guests feel at home and very welcome. The grounds are well cared for with beautiful tropical foliage and the hotel has a pleasant swimming pool area. Most of the guests who stayed at the hotel during our visit were from France, in fact, we were the only English speaking family. We were absolutely delighted to be staying in a true Creole inn, and enjoyed the idea that no one at the hotel, guests or staff, spoke much English (this is typical in Guadeloupe and Martinique). I speak passable French and my children were forced to use their school French. (I've given up on my husband speaking anything other than English). The highlight of my stay was when I was called upon to be the hotel's interpreter for some lost Americans. The rooms are neat, spacious, and very, very clean. There are garden bungalows, but we were not able to book one. We could easily walk along the beach into town, and the hotel is just steps away from the beach. We really enjoyed Guadeloupe and Martinique because they are not super touristy islands, and they are the best of both worlds - Caribbean and France! Should I return to Guadeloupe, the Hotel Le Rotabas would be the first place I would try to book.

We stayed at Le Rotabas for 2 nights at the beginning of our stay in Guadeloupe. Double or triple occupancy rooms are clustered together in little cabins a bit reminiscent of YMCA camp, but with beautiful flowering plants in between. We had two adjoining rooms for our family of four. Our cabins were very basic, with single beds, and a bit dark. They were clean, however, and had good A/C, with we definitely appreciated. The breakfast area is very nice, colorfully painted and had freshly-baked rolls with a good variety of fruit. We took a look at the pool, but it looked kind of cloudy so we didn’t go in. It’s a short walk past some community building and along the shore to the very nice Caravelle beach where Club Med sits. I wouldn’t mind going back, but I’d check out other accommodations in the area as well -- it didn’t blow us away.

A little rustic, but the owners couldn't be nicer. It's very close to the beach and next door to Club Med. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, air conditioning worked and the washroom needed a refit, but how much time do you spend in your room, right? Free WiFi in the lobby but it was spotty and difficult to get on from time to time. The pool was very clean and well looked after.

Our luggage was delayed for 27 hours so while waiting for it one night, we just decided to eat in the restaurant. My wife ordered chicken with crayfish. Tasteless, horrid boiled crap. I ordered a salad and it was soaked in brine. I needed 3 napkins to soak up the slop. This whole island has really bad food which is surprising for a French island.

The area is a little second world with plenty of abandoned buildings. Walking at night is a little scary with all the gang signs all over the place. We saw some locals completely wasted on something or other. If you want to rent a car and use this as a very convenient base, it's totally fine.

The customer care does NOT exist. Rude receptionist that doesn’t try to listen to you. Very disappointed as the location is good. They gave a small room for two people and a big one for my friend that is alone and we paid the same price. It’s just common sense that doesn’t exist here. It’s a pity because the island is beautiful but due to this bad experience I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

We booked a room for two at this hotel arriving on 10/22/23 for one night. Although having confirmed, as requested by the hotel, the departure of the plane from CDG and our arrival at 9:15 p.m. we found ourselves with a closed door in front of the hotel and had to look for another hotel in the middle of a rainy night. Because despite the poster on the facade asking to call the landline and mobile phone numbers, we never had a response despite 2 messages left on each line.
Hoteliers like this do harm to the profession and to Guadeloupe, fortunately afterward our trip went very well.
Shame on these inhospitable wreckers.

If you want to spoil your holiday, go to this hotel! The owner has no manners and is rude, I am delighted I left the place and instead found a beautiful apartment with ocean view on the beach for the same amount of money. The beach in front of the hotel cannot be used due to huge amounts of stinking weeds, the hotel restaurant was closed and nobody was available after 7. But most annoying was the lack of manners of the owner. All in all very disappointing, I'll never go there again.

This hotel is very very tired and is a 25 minutes walk from St anne centre and on a dirty stretch of beach, Probably the meanest breakfast I've ever experienced. And far too expensive for what you get. Avoid

When review a hotel you need to take the star rating and price into consideration. This is a 2 star hotel in the Caribbean so opinions must be realistic given the property. Certainly the best thing about the hotel is its location right next to the beach at Caravelle/Club Med. This is one of the nicest beaches and given that all beaches are open to the public, one of the most popular. Many people drive to the road where Le Rotabas is located and it gets very congested and a huge hassle. But if you stay at this hotel you just leave the property, walk 100 yards and you are at the beach!

The hotel itself is nothing special but the rooms and lobby are very clean, though the room is one the 'basic side'. There are few amenities but the air conditioner works well and the shower was hot. Given the great beach, not much time was spent in the room. The continental breakfast was nothing elaborate but it was a more than adequate. The level of service from the staff is not great but that might have been partly because of the language issues. There is mostly someone there who speaks English but it might take a while to get your point across. Also there is no Wifi in the rooms and I am not sure how good it was in the lobby since I have T-Mobile and you get unlimited data just about anywhere in the world.

We didn't have a car but it was only a 15 minute walk into town that we did regularly. A few times we walked home late but always felt safe. The Kote Sud restaurant right near our hotel was the best meal we had in Guadeloupe.

So if you want to save money by staying in a 2 star hotel, don't like a lot of creature comforts and want to be near the beach, this hotel is not a bad choice.

I stayed for 3 days and was enchanted.

Of course the hotel could use a good uphaul, it's far from brand new, but the pool has just been renovated, it's very clean and so are the rooms. The rooms are located in small, lovely bungalows with terraces and a little "garden" surrounded by trees, it's very quiet & charming.

Location is absolutely perfect, you can access the Club Med's beach (no private beaches in France!), it's quiet but still close to the town of Ste Anne

The staff is very helpful, they changed me to a better room with many apologies when we visited the first one and realized the A/C didn't work.

Breakfast was the same everyday, definitely not great, I'd say it was the down side of our stay... but it was OK.

There was free wi-fi in the lobby, and it worked really well, which is not the case everywhere in Guadeloupe!

Finally we paid such a good price for perfectly clean rooms with good air conditionning, perfect location, quiet and everything, we definitely recommend the hotel if you're not looking for international 4-star standards but plain, ordinary, unpretentious comfort.

This is only a 2 star hotel, so let's be reasonable in the expectations.Since we did not intend to spend much time inside the room it was adequate in the circumstances. The room was comfortable and the bathroom modern. Good pressure in the shower . Soundproofing is not great and we could hear our neighbours.
WiFi worked well in the room and at the pool. Good buffet breakfast.
Parking turned out OK despite our worries when we arrived since there is a lot of traffic on the beach road.
The only problem is price (100 euros) but everything in Guadeloupe is expensive.
