Wasn't a bad holiday but was a disappointing one, it took over an hour to check in then took 2 hours for our luggage to be delivered to our room. The following morning going to breakfast we were harassed by the h2 staff to go on a complimentary tour...( they wear white shirts) and constantly try to befriend you for the reason only to get you on this complimentary tour...they called it the vip package. This happened at breakfast , lunchtime and evening meal times they wait on the main walk way and they target certain wrist bands usually english..Us in particular and many other English couples it's impossible to avoid them . That said most of the other staff are brilliant and look after you they include the bar staff, pool staff, waiters and waitresses , maids and the guys who top up your mini bar..all great..we often waited for meals in the restaurants as others did but were amused by how many were like us ..Waiting and often getting the wrong food delivered to our tables 🤣🤣 shambolic really but it did make us laugh ..sometimes. I've really got to end this review as the more i think about it the more its winding me up on how much its cost..🤣🤣 Not a bad hotel but not a good one , the h2 element where they try to sell you points at their Hotels is a really poor element and is my main reason we shall never Ever holiday at these resorts again..happy holidays …
2nd trip to this resort we decided to come back this year to see what improvements and finishes had been made to the resort . We traveled last year with another couple and stayed in junior swim up room for first time great then and again this year we were given the same room as last year and 2couples in swim up3 rooms down disliked o conversations were hard unless in pool However our neighbours turned out to be very pleasant even exchanged emails to keep in touch..Tthe vegatation had developed in just 1 year. Tthe rest of the buildings had been finished now. . We took notice that beach and lagoon area was much better all cleaned up last year broken glass and construction rock on beach much better now lagoon beautiful. Resturants were good however changes been made route 66 burgers diffrent this we preferred last year service was better this year . Main buffet improved the food was not always cold . Favorite restaurant Japanese I believe our chef was Riccio 2 thumbs up. Staff throughout excallant friendly We had exceptional service by many maid Maribel does her job very well Steak house Johnathan spectacular job , lazy river bar fantastic bartenders Franklin and Maximo fully enjoyed their spirt. upon departure discovered our waitress from the swim up bar last year we thought she mght not be here now sure wish we knew she had just moved to lobby bar area we would have spent time at lobby bar Franyely loves her job she even remembered our names after a year. We stayed here in May of 2019 and we were so happy with our stay we decided to book our honeymoon trip here this Nov. and what made us book this resort and hotel was the wonderful staff we met while on our last trip there. From Anna in the entertainment to the servers Lizanardo,Lidia, Scarlett and Francisco who made every meal worth remembering we had lots of laughs and miss them and can’t wait to see them in Nov. And we can’t forget the number one butler Alex!!! He went above and beyond for us and treated us so well and will be requesting him to help us if possible as he really made our everyday great just from his help and his personality. Thanks for An amazing trip and we will be back in November 2020 :)
I loved my days there! Hope to comeback soon! The place is big enough, and have two sides one for families and one for adults only. Some of the rooms have like a personal pool that only people staying at those rooms can swim there, and the best thing is that you can use it no matter the time! Food is good but it could be much better. The place has like 7 or 9 pools, different types, and one of them is like a river, I really loved that one!!
One question why in the ratings is 5 star which has 178 and 1 star which is 158 not the same length line.. Very misleading.. Does Trump endorse this site. Lol First of this is an honest review unlike many others , not sure why some people are giving this resort a 5 star, my take is either blind, coerced or an employee, this resort at best is barely in 3 star and that is being generous.. My stay was August 2019 and to say that the service was 5 star is a joke.. Waiters, maids bartenders, bell hops, and front desk were all non motivated, you would think that what they were doing was a punishment. I would compare it to the same reaction I would see when I ask my 15 year old son to pickup the dog land mines in the backyard.. The beach was terrible the resort is located in an area I consider as not desirable. This part of the island is always windy, high waves, a lot of sea weed and a far distance from excursion no motorized crafts allowed in this area.. I would consider it the human waste exit point of the Dominican Republic and when you go to the beach and smell the mountains of sea weed decaying you will see why. The rooms are also subpar toilets, ac, fridges not working all things I heard from other guest.. Also since being a brand new resort there was a lot of things that were broken or showed poor workmanship.. But that was probably common considering the condition of buildings on that island.. Food was very blah even though they have many restaurant. I was told all food originates from the same kitchen except for the Japanese steak house where the chef is at table side. Very low standards in quality.. Buffet was same food as restaurant so I suggest just eating there because it was much faster then the slow service and waiting at each restaurant. The entertainment was very amateurish and laughable on the first day but got sad by the third. The bowling alley was ok but not kept up in terms of lane condition. I am a league bowler and I believe these lanes have never been wax on a daily basis.. You might as well throw your ball down a concrete path. I will also touch on the time share sales people which would not leave me alone for the first two days.. I fix that problem by saying finally "listen next time you stop me to pressure me and my family to come to the presentation you will definitely not like what I will do just a warning..". After that they never bothered us.. Finally the only bright spot was the pool which was clean and the lazy river... See I am not all negative, but when all is said and done I will never return to this sub par resort.. …
