I would like to say that leaving this resort after being there for only a few days was the hardest decision we had to make. This was by far one of the best resorts we have visited and the beach was STUNNING. We arrived on March 13 and chose to leave early because of warnings to come back to Canada which happened after we arrived at the resort. With all the uncertainty in the world at the time, we erred on the side of caution to ensure our ability to return home. In the time we were at the Barcelo, we had a great vacation! The food was fantastic, the room was good and well kept by housekeeping. The location of our room to the beach in block 1000 was very accessible. The grounds at this resort were beautiful. The beach!!!! There was never any issue getting a lawn chair and we were always able to find some shade depending on the hour of day. The food at the buffet was always really good. In other resorts we would anticipate a dinner at the a la carte, but we enjoyed the variation at the buffet each day and weren't looking forward to a better dinner like we have in other resorts. When we are free to travel again, we will be sure to come back to Barcelo Beach. Definitely wasn't an easy decision to leave early. …

This was our first adults only trip. Besides the threat of the covid-19 virus spreading, which scared most of the customers away; this was a very calm setting. 2 PM, bodies are everywhere, people a taking naps....on the beach, around the pool, in the shade etc ....not quite what I was expecting....A little too quiet. If you want a VERY quiet vacation this is great! There was a lack of entertainment around the pool area, it could have used a bit more music, to keep people alive. The entertainment team was awesome, too bad not many customers would participate in their activities. Food was FANTASTIC!!! great buffet, not much reason to go a la carte... The beach is nice and clean, the hotel is extra clean, staff id very friendly and helpful. *** a little more English please*** many staff members a solely Spanish speaking. OVERALL great trip, great food, super quiet, good to be around adults only, no kids running and screaming, just needed a bit more energy around the pool bar to keep people active....I would recommend it !…

We visited this lovely resort just before the Covid-19 virus hit. We have been vacationing at this property for many years and before Punta Cana was a "hot spot". The staff are very welcoming and we've always felt safe and comfortable here. The rooms are large and comfortable, the food is ever changing and if you can always find fresh fruit, fish, poultry etc. and it can be cooked right in front of you, so, if you don't want "the buffet", you still have a lot of choice. The beach is lovely and the crew clean it every day. There are more than enough beach chairs and if you're a pool person, the pool at the Adults Only is warm and clean. There are several dining options at the resort. The entertainment is passable - the nights where the live bands play are very good - the nights where the staff are lip-sinking are ...... All in all, we are waiting until this Covid-19 passes so that we can hopefully, book a Christmas holiday. I hope the staff are all well and that the people in the DR are able to weather this global storm without too much disruption to their economy.…

Food is good. Beach is good. But if you are not a smoker, and even if you are but are not a second hand smoker, this is an awful environment. You can not escape from the smoke. It's everywhere: lobby, pool area, even in the beach. There are ashtrays everywhere to facilitate it. The other thing is that workers arrive early their cleaning and the speak super loud without consideration and awareness that guests are there to REST.

We just got home from Barceló Beach last night. My husband golfed 5 of 7 days and absolutely loved the course and he’s an avid golfer. If you pre-book 4 or more rounds the cart rental is $60 per person, any less than 4 it’s $70. Beer and water is included as well as your meal in the onsite restaurant. Mixed drinks are not included. Hope that helps!
No beach bar or beach service but the pool bar is very, very close to the beach. Bring a travel mug if you’d like to make fewer trips!
