While the Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham has earned praise for its lively atmosphere and an array of engaging activities, opinions on its value proposition are mixed. Many guests have highlighted maintenance and cleanliness as strengths, particularly in common areas.
However, some visitors have been disappointed by unexpected charges, food that didn't meet their expectations, and amenities that fell short, including issues with wifi and air conditioning in rooms. The service quality has also varied widely, with experiences ranging from encounters with dedicated staff members to instances of poor service that left guests frustrated.

We were 2 family’s who stayed for a week here, Checking in is very slow and staff does very little to nothing and is very useless if you ask to change the room or upgrade they tell you to come the next morning and deal with the airline the staff are very moody don’t seem to care and are rude. When we arrived at our room we were greeted with a horrible smell coming from the AC including the bathroom when we went back and complained we were told “we cant do anything tonight come back tomorrow” No drinks in the fridge not even water they left 2 bottles of water for 4 people to drink and brushing teeth after complaining we were told that they don’t stock the fridge with not even water and two bottles was the standard and request for more was ignored. Rooms were clean and the cleaning staff did a great job just outdated room. Food is good the buffet has an okay amount of options but good quality. The buffet and many other parts of the resort are self service no one asks you what you want to drink tables take forever to be cleaned and you have to chase down staff to get a fork and knife, You have to find your own seating as the hostess just stands by the door and does absolutely nothing for their entire shift. Staff at the bar by the buffet is fantastic very friendly especially Alexis and Christopher they were great but the drinks were ok all the alcohol was very cheap and if you want a notable or good brand you need to go to the cash bar. The layout and grounds of the resort are well maintained and beautiful, The beach is also fantastic but as already mentioned no service you have to get your own drink. The entertainment is fantastic from 9am until midnight theres something going on games at the beach and pool, music, dancing and much more! Wifi was very poor inside the rooms only really works in common areas in the resort. No room service and either the phone in the room doesn’t work or front desk wont answer when you call. Overall an okay experience but could’ve way better in a lot of areas.

Large, comfortable village equipped with all services. Aesthetically stunning bungalow both inside and outside, the only flaw is the annoying continuous noise coming from the building next door, but probably just bad luck in the exaggeration (we decided not to complain due to the excellent location within the village). A la carte restaurants of superior quality to buffets, the latter enjoy a wide choice but with flavors that perhaps we are not used to. Recommended breakfasts and lunches in La Roca, less crowded and quieter. Beautiful, large beach with Caribbean sea. Absolutely try the infinity salt pool at sunset. The entire village staff is always available and smiling. For excursions we can only recommend MARIPOSA TOURS, just outside the village. Gabriele Alessia Cinzia and Paolo are a fantastic team who transform excursions into unforgettable days. In Saona you have the opportunity to arrive first at all stages, managing to enjoy deserted beaches and uncontaminated landscapes. The Safari, on the other hand, allows you to live a typical Dominican experience, concluding with a wonderful and fun crossing of the Rio Chavon. Note of merit to Alessia who, in addition to being an excellent photographer, is also and above all a formidable person.

We stayed in this village for a Caribbean vacation planned for many months. We booked through the tour operator Alpitour and we must say that the organization was up to both arrival and departure, but we come to the village. It is about thirty minutes by bus from the airport, outside there seems to be very little stuff, if we exclude an area adjacent to the village with shops, restaurants and excursion agencies that we found almost always little frequented. The resort is very large, at times almost dispersed, in fact it consists of several resorts (Beach, Palace and Village fully merged and with many shared facilities, for example the beach , swimming pools and restaurants. The beach and the sea point are the real flagship of the resort, beautiful sea and classic Caribbean colors, and large beach where you can shelter from the sun under the many palm trees present. The beds are in abundance, but we often found them dirty and many of the same with signs of mold, generally poorly maintained, however nothing so tragic. The beach towels service is offered at certain times and upon presentation of a card delivered to the ceck in. We found ourselves unhappy with the towel delivery service for the duration of the stay, especially when we were about to leave the village and the attendant refused to give us (for no apparent reason) the cards to show at the reception for not having penalties. The room was a disappointment, although we opted for a superior room, we were allocated a room on the fourth floor without elevator, large enough but with really scanty furnishings and just enough quality. There is also a charge for the safe, which we have not seen in other resorts of the same standard. Sore note the restaurant buffet offers you variety of choice, but practically we liked almost nothing, all with little taste and very little flavor. Bravo Club customers can book an a la carte dinner at three different restaurants in the village. We booked at the Mexican restaurant, really good – restaurant 25, totally to forget so much that we did not even finish dinner and finally the restaurant la Roca, which we consider acceptable and very romantic. In the village there are several bars, we tried to get some coffees and cocktails, but the result was very disappointing, the impression we had, especially in the preparation of cocktails is that the doses are made a bit haphazardly, with the result that the flavor is often not as expected. In addition, these bars are invaded by wasps (or at least seem to be such), which rest a bit 'everywhere annoying the patron Beautiful shows of international animation, while the animators of the Bravo Club we have seen them very, very rarely except for the arrival and departure In conclusion, our opinion is that the Viva Dominicus is a resort with so much potential, see for example the sea point and the beach, but that it would also need more attention and application in some areas such as that of catering, also because all paid handsomely for eating well.

I put two stars just for the sea. The village is dirty and it is a shame because it is very nice! Food, rooms and cleanliness 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 Room on the third floor... stairs always dirty! We had a superior double room, we had seen the photos but the reality disappointed us so much! Small and unrenovated rooms, not faithful to the photos, old furniture, rust everywhere and icing on the cake the plaster of the bathroom ceiling fell on our heads because of the humidity. Not to mention the dirty, fur-filled sheets! We pointed out the issues to Bravo support on the first night, we were asked to come back the next day and then the next day again. Finally they give us a change of room, fortunately they made us see it before but the one they would have assigned us was even smaller than ours! We refused and kept ours!
Poor quality of food. There are no bottled drinks, only dispensers with reusable plastic cups! They leave in the room a glass bottle that guests can fill from the various dispensers (used for a week 🙈) In the all inclusive package you can choose 3 a la carte restaurants to dine in. We tried one, we didn't even finish dinner and then I preferred to cancel the other reservations. Fortunately there was the trattoria where good pizzas cooked in a wood oven and pasta with tomato sauce were served. They pretend to be an Italian village but in reality it is low quality international. We had also booked the excursion to the island of Saône for Wednesday with the Bravo group, it was canceled due to a boat strike and moved to Friday but on Thursday they told us that it would not be done and that they would refund us without giving us too much explanation, too bad that on Friday we saw that the boats left (evidently there was no room for those of the Wednesday shift). I regret that if we had known we would have booked the excursion from agencies outside the village, instead we could not do this experience because we left on Saturday. I would not recommend it at all!

I stayed here for Christmas...I had asked for a comfortable room, near the sea but I got a room with a wall view, without windows... Mediocre cleaning, daily towel change, plus two bottles of free water for brushing your teeth since the water is not drinkable. The cuisine was not to my liking, also because in the buffet restaurant it creates a mess... and also a waste... As for the beach, it's beautiful, if you go to the beach late you won't find a place... The beach is very long but there are only two places to take towels... There are two types of solutions, beach package and the Village... all the restaurants and bars scattered on the beaches are included in the Village... not in the beach package... so you should ask the agency for the Village package. The staff is very kind and helpful, everything is well looked after and seems to work well...I would recommend adding a clothesline in the rooms because it was really inconvenient to put wet stuff on the fence of the house...I also recommend improving the kitchen, maybe adding more Italian chefs, because we know, we Italians are a bit snobbish... There are shops inside the village, obviously the prices are not low... leaving the village you can find many... I bought many things in the two-storey shop which is on the left as you leave the village, Seems to be run by women... To smokers I say Be careful because cigarettes cost €7🤣... and they're not even like ours...

Hi everyone, We are a couple who stayed at Viva Beach from 10/11 to 17/11. We don't say much about the village, as we are more excursion people than village people (out of 7 days, only 2 days we were totally in the village, the other days we were only here for breakfast and dinner). When it comes to food, there is a wide choice, so with a minimum spirit of adaptation you can always find something good. The village (Beach/Viva section) also allows you to choose 3 à la carte restaurants to dine in and it is a good service (we chose French, Mexican and Latin restaurant). Inside the village you will also find many shops where you can buy various souvenirs and some are cheaper here than outside. Regarding the cleanliness of the rooms, I would say it was discreet and if you have problems with the cards to enter the room, contact the reception immediately. As for the excursions, we relied on MARIPOSA TOURS (the owner Gabriele is Italian) and we had a great time! (You can contact him directly from Italy for information). As excursions we chose: Isla Saona with the related stops (despite the sea not being very calm, the captain drove very, very well!), the Safari (hello to Mrs. Elva who enriched us with a lot of information about the area), the capital Santo Domingo with the guide who spoke English, French, Italian and Spanish and Isla Catalina, a beautiful excursion thanks also to our companion/guide Paolo from Mariposa Tour who treated us very well, always making us arrive first in all the stages so that we could enjoy ourselves to the fullest the excursion. You will also discover what a personal CV he has, you can definitely feel safe! Furthermore, as a guide he explained everything to us in detail. Thanks also to the photographer Alessia for the splendid photos!
Greetings from Simona and Simone

We are very happy with our stay at viva. We did the excursion with Franconero which we recommend because we had a lot of fun and we had the opportunity to discover an enchanting part of the island. He is located right in the pedestrian street that connects the viva beach to the viva village... we decided to do the excursion with him because we like to support other realities when we travel because the village excursions are already full of their own customers. So also the souvenirs, we bought them in the local shops at low prices that can be found walking on the beach towards the lighthouse.
As for the structure: nothing to say, it is beautiful, full of activities, the BRAVO entertainment team (the one we used) is truly competent; my daughter had a lot of fun. The entertainment at the viva also seemed nice and energetic. Both are never intrusive. The sea is spectacular. The beach is wide and although there are many customers, they don't crowd together because they are well distributed. The food is discreet, you eat continuously... they don't leave you hungry. The pizza and sandwiches at the viva kiosk are excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful, both in the dining room and around the village, The beach room is equipped with everything you need and is always cleaned.
The only sore point: the cleaning of the glasses at the bar. These are hard plastic glasses that must be returned to the bar; they rinse them and make other drinks to give to other customers. My water tasted like piña colada…which I hadn't drunk! And at the restaurant a glass had the halo of lipstick lips. Sometimes they are put in the dishwasher but sometimes they are just rinsed with running water. this thing needs to be improved.
Furthermore, sometimes there are operators in the village who will convince you to buy 15/30 years of holiday at high prices; a sort of timeshare to ''loyalize'' the customer. Evaluate well!!!
In any case, we can be very satisfied with the entire stay!

Super structure proposed by tour operators, on the market for years satisfied but with some concerns. I try to summarize our experience: Accommodation: two rooms at the Village, one side quiet village and the other side street outside a little noisier at night. Sufficient cleanliness, spacious, minimal but nothing is missing. Sheets and towels changed regularly but sometimes with "old stains" and worn. Catering: quantity wins over quality. I can't say that we ate badly or that there was no choice but all on a large scale. Buffet The large Terrace, chaotic for the number of people it has to handle. The waiters undertake to set and keep clean but with the crowd (often rude and uncivilized) they do not make it. Plastic placemats at all meals and cleaning glasses not exactly hygienic. Buffet La Roca our favorite. More contained in the proposals but nothing is missing, much quieter and with a priceless view between the sea and the pool / gardens. Cleaner. Christmas dinner to review organization. Nice show cooking outside but if then everything cools down for the queue entrance hall... Exaggerated amounts of food that we obviously had the next day at lunch. Excellent pizza at Trattoria. Mexican dinner canceled because we were sick, Fusion Latino dinner much appreciated. Unfortunately we also had vomiting problems, I for two days did not touch food. And we weren't the only ones that week. Structure: well maintained, constant maintenance. A bit of an invitation to the partner meeting. Walk inside it, to the pond, looking for the iguana. Discovering the gardens. It's worth it! Animation/sports: mostly run by the Viva team they strive to give good proposals. Bravo entertainers in the shade, present only a few nights in the area above the Palace theater and not even advertised. Great offer instead of water sports, well managed. Sunbeds on the beach should be cleaned at least in the morning. Excursions: following the advice of travelers, we relied on @franconeroescursioni and recommend it in our turn. Office just off the Village exit on the right. His Saône is worth the trip!
Conclusion: village too big for our habits, you feel like a number to manage and fill with food and drink. You can't form relationships with anyone. Besieged by Italian families and many with children = a week on that beach??? Honestly Christmas Day seemed to be on the beach in mid-August in Riccione, it was not for the sea Its strong point is undoubtedly the location. We spent 9 nights and 9 days, we returned however happy with this trip enriched with External excursions that deserve to be done. I don't know if I personally would go back but I can't say "don't go" because it wouldn't be fair to the many people who run it with commitment.

My partner and I are staying at Viva Dominicus Beach in the Garden view Bungalow and in our opinion it is super comfortable because we are a few steps from the beach and also we are not inside the building that is on the other side of the resort and in our opinion it is the best option because we do not have anyone above or below that can disturb / we can disturb. For now we have tried only the main buffet restaurants, La Terraza and La Roca, the latter a little less “full” than the first as it is slightly smaller. Both in the morning and in the afternoon at the restaurant La Roca you can have snacks / snacks as well as take espresso coffee and drinks at the bar. In terms of excursions there are enough and have a price range ranging from 40 USD to 130 USD (per couple) but for now we preferred to rely on the agency Mariposa Tours which is located just outside the resort, literally 5 min walk, as it was recommended by friends. We had a great time and were super helpful! Super recommended.

Out of the sea, down to the abyss. Rooms bordering on decent, sold strategically but dirty, from sheets with various shades of brown yellow, paint marks on headboards and humidity festivals. Food, to adapt, either go to the pizzeria (santa cosa) or go to Lorenzo the Italian cook. Otherwise prepare for a dip into the unknown, with the same things If you book the excursions, if you are sick you have to spend $150 for the medical certificate (even if you have insurance the opening practice costs $100 non-refundable) of reimbursement and they refund you half of what you spent
Also every instant people trying to sell massages, braids upgrade to the VIP member,
Instead of the beach where we stayed, opt for a room at the palace, they sell you the beach as something fantastic but it is all connected so don't be fooled because you have the whole village for the beach and the restaurants are the same. For the plastic cups they will give you for drinking and for ice rest assured instead, they come out of the dishwasher forever and the water used to make ice is ok. Convenient the many points for drinking and eating at every hour. The water is demineralized, so you basically drink water like that coming out of the air conditioner. Equip yourself with mineral salts and stock up on medicines, which bellyache is around the corner
For the rest, we'll come back just for the sea
