Overall, we had a very good stay at LHVC, Puerto Plata. We had 1 Villa and Two, 2 bedroom Suites for the 12 adult children and significant others in our group. The check in was very easy and the bill was what was expected. This was a very nice start. Natali Belen at the Villas reception did a great job communicating with us every day. She also arranged all our dinner reservations. She was amazing. Our housekeeper, Yanina Garcia was also amazing. She was helpful and adapted the breakfast she cooked to what we liked. Segundo at the VIP beach was very helpful and took great care of us. We brought a good amount of tip money (in small bills) and were very generous. This obviously helped the service we got but we also felt like we were helping people out right now as many were out of work for awhile or are only working part time. Unlike other all inclusive we have been too, every restaurant we ate at this property was very good. Each was unique and authentic. The only negatives were: the booze you get is the bottom shelf and not good. Only in the VIP areas could we get the “top shelf” which was Johnny Walker Red, Malibu and Stolis. Not great but ok. Also, we were harassed constantly the first 2 days to go to one of their time share presentations. We finally went just to get them off our back and it did stop after that but it was an hour of our life we can’t get back. Also the Spa people are constantly harassing you every day to buy services. The Spa was expensive overall although 2 couples from our group got a one hour couples massage for $150 which was reasonable. For transportation, they will bring you from the airport to the resort for free, but they charge you $55 for the return trip to POP. We arranged our own transportation and also did our day trip (to Blue Lagoon) through Dominican Atlantic Transfers. Barney was awesome and we had an amazing day. His prices are much better than what the resort offers for both day trips and airport transportation. Overall, we had a great experience and would go to this resort again. …
WE WERE AT LIFESTYLES NEAR THE LITTLE CASINO MY BUILDING /ROOM WAS NEAR THE FIRST POOL ON THE RESORT WITH THE BUFFET RESTAURANT RIGHT across from my room .. it was nice but THE OFFICE FOLKS WERE NOT very helpful .. i know people need money but it seems every time you needed something you had to throw the workers cash .. when we arrived you got 6 waters 3 cans light 3 cans regular beer for fridge lol well that lasted two nights .. i had to bribe the stock guy for beer which is okay but i shouldnt have to ask . just charge me a few $$ bucks and stock the fridge .. thank gosh the pool bar was about a hundred yards .. i recommend you bring/get giant water bottle /cups and stock up at 12 pm at the bar ..everything was ok hell we were there for warm weather and only for a week so no biggie .. the bad thing was communication they sure didnt go out of their way to help do any excursions OR EXPLAIN VERY WELL .. ESPECIALLY WITH MOSTLY ENGLISH SPEAKING PEOPLE .. unfortunately it rain 3 days so hung around the resort ,pool bar and the beach bars 2 out of 3 BEACH BARS were closed due to weather one day which was great .. there was i and 3 friends at a beach bar all to ourselves one afternoon cause of rain lol a light rain at 75degrees and people left the beach.. it was empty lol .. we arrived on a thursday 12;30 am eastern time .. friday nite sat sunday was really crowded with locals .. i found out that the dominican has a deal with locals they can get a room at the villa and i was told all resorts for like 20 $ so i was told ..so the place looks crowded and fun but you have alot of kids running around , the local families hog the tables and lounges at the pool and beach so you got to be aware and set up early lol again it didnt bother me cause at home was a foot of snow and 25 degrees f lol so the cloudy 75 degree 3 days was still awesome lol and 3 days above 80.. even though our stay was all inclusive the booze was not very good but oh well what bothered me was I couldn't THROW a tip or buy any of the good stuff like CANADIAN CLUB OR SMIRNOFF VODKA EVEN AT THE LITTLE CASINO .. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME CAUSE MY WRIST BAND WAS JUST THE NORMAL TOURIST .. WELL I DID NOT KNOW THIS LIKE I SAID COMMUNICATION WAS TERRIBLE AND THATS MY COMPLAINT .. I KNOW THEY ARE THERE FOR CASH AND I WAS WILLING TO SPEND SOME BUT I GUESS THEY ARE RICH ENOUGH LOL ,, ANOTHER THING FUNNY WAS THE MEN WITH A NICE UNIFORMS AND THOSE CUBAN HATS .. THEY WANT TO GET THE FIRST TIMERS ME AND THE WIFE OVER TO THE BIG FANCY OFFICE BUILDING GO FOR A TOUR TO THE DIFFERENT SIZE PRIVATE VILLAS I GUESS TO SIGN YOU UP TO A PACKAGE DEAL FOR LIKE 10 20 30 TRIPS AND LEASE ONE OF THOSE PLACES ALSO TRY AND SELL YOU A CONDO WHICH COME WITH 2 BEDROOMS TO 7 BEDROOMS .. LIKE I SAID THEY ARE THERE TO MAKE MONEY NOT THE FEW BUCKS WE HAVE LO L ....I SEE SOME REVIEWS ABOUT CROOKS FOR 20 BUCKS YOU CAN GET A SAFE ,,,AND WHY WOULD YOU STAY A RESORT WITH FEW THOUSAND PEOPLE WONDERING AROUND CONSTANTLY AND BRING EXPENSIVE JEWELS ,PHONES OR LEAVE THE WALLET UNLOCK IN THE ROOM . THAT GOES FOR ANY HOTEL/RESORT ANYWHERE .. I KNOW IM GOING ON THE BEACH THE WEDDING RING AND WATCH STAYED HOME MY WIFES FINGERS OVER 30 YRS ARE A LITTLE BIGGER SO HER RING WONT FALL OFF LOL I KEPT THE PHONE MY ID /WALLET IN SAFE . .. LIKE I SAID THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS ... BUT HEY IT WAS MY FIRST TIME LIKE THAT AT A resort on an island ,... we usually drive to florida for 10 days but tried something different .... another thing was my first big plane ride which was NOT FUN lol the plane seats were small my knees were crushed against the seat in front of me well all you know what planes are like .. i probaBLY WONT DO THAT AGAIN .. i just hate the day of travel there and home to me not worth it .. id rather jump in my truck and just head south till i dont need a jacket and boots lol .. but i could see myself living in this type of environment and just stay away from the planes lol overall it was nice and if this is what you want to do .. a week there is okay . we were there about 2 weeks before COVID HIT last week of feb 2020…
I’m going to keep this short as I’d prefer to spend time on reviews with more positive experiences. This place was horrible. Bad customer service, Villa had spiders, fleas, no wifi, the pool was empty and full of dirt. We prepaid for a chef and the food never came. The restaurants were bad too. I’ll let the pictures handle the rest. Just gross.
Went to Lifestyle with extended family for a Thanksgiving holiday. It was uncrowded and we felt very safe as all staff wear face coverings and there was plenty of sanitizer. The beaches are pristine with plenty of sun, or shade, depending on your preference. Almost all of the staff were exceptional and so happy to have guests. They had reopened a few days earlier so there were a few minor mechanical problems but those were all resolved very quickly.
I went their with my spouse and three young kids along with another couple and their kids. The villa was perfect for what we needed. We had the best of both worlds. Our own place to hang out during nap times and early bed times, or just when we didn’t feel like carting all the kids to the beach. Having breakfast prepared at the villa was also a lifesaver having young kids. But then we could also visit any of the many restaurants, pools and beaches when we wanted to explore. The villa itself was good...a little dated and we had some water issues. But overall, we liked it. The only issue I had with this place that has left a super sour taste in my mouth and will be the reason I will most likely never go back, is we had our villa broken into our last night there, while we were out to dinner and had a bunch of our stuff stolen. I noticed the jewellery that night but wasn’t sure if one of my kids had put it somewhere. Everything was half packed or about to be packed as we were leaving the next morning. The other items I noticed upon returning home and unpacking. I notified the resort immediately but because I hadn’t made a report while there. There wasn’t much that could be done. The sum of items stolen was about $1000 (sunglasses, Bluetooth speakers, jewellery). I’m still irritated when I think about it, even though it was months ago. As the timing of it happening on our last night there (so we would most likely not realize until we were home), makes me realize that it was an inside job. So if you do go there, be wary.…
