Nice little apartment-hotel...very good deal for the price! Only about 100 yards from the beach and not too far from several beachfront restaurants. Rented a two-bedroom, as I read that the beds were small doubles...and they were...very glad I rented the two BR as the double was just not big enough for my wife and I. Room(s) were reasonably clean, although we did have to clean off the kitchen counter. Adequately furnished, and the guard and registration agent were very nice. I would definitely go there again, and may do so during another upcoming visit. No beach towels provided...linen provided is the bare minimum. WiFi was very poor.
Slightly older small aparthotel with small kitchen next to beach. Small but clean pool . Small store 50m away. Bigger store with ATM machine outside is a 10 minute walk away past the taxi stand. Probably best value in the area. 100m from Blackbeard’s Resort (no children permitted if you want an even quieter place).
We stayed here one night. The hotel property seemed nice, but the hotel itself, while clean, was a little run-down. They had traditional Dominican furniture-a lumpy couch, super-straight-backed chairs, lumpy mattresses. Air conditioning was a nice bonus, as was the hot water for the shower. Security wasn't great-the doors to the room only had basic privacy locks, and one of the window locks was broken.
love these apartments have stayed twice with my husband love that the beach is right outside the gates of the building and love that the building is quiet and pool area hardly has people. there is a store a few blocks away where u can buy stuff to cook a meal or a few resturants and supermarket near by aswell love this location beach is nice and tranquil.
This condo style hotel is located in a quiet residential gated community. It is well worth every dollar you are charged. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for very nice accommodations at a low price. The beach is very beautiful and not a lot of traffic. Mariano and the hotel owner made my stay very enjoyable.
Very helpful/friendly staff. The apartment was very clean, bathrooms seened to be recently upgraded. The pool area is very nice. The property is well maintained. The beach is only 50 yards away. A very safe area, security is very visible.
We stayed at this place early in Jan 2018. We enjoyed the stay. It felt safe and was clean. It had many conveniences...close to taxi...store and very very close to the beach. The beach was right across the street. They were very helpful. We are returning for another visit in May 2018
Excellent place to unwind and relax. Very clean. Steps to the beach. Gated with security. Felt very safe. Based on other places stayed this trip, it is worth twice the price. A true gem in a quiet area close to everything you need. You will pass Jenny's on the way in. Jenny's is the local grocery store plus money exchange place (best exchange rate found so far). The local restaurants clean the beach daily and are very friendly. Lounge chairs are available for 150 pesos. Mariano at the Costambar was super. He told us a lot and had answers for all questions. The room was comfortable, beds ok, and a nice balcony. Did not use the pool. Liked the ocean better. The staff was the most customer oriented that I have seen in a long time. When they see you coming toward the gate, they move as quickly as is needed to beat you to the gate and open it for you. If you are carrying anything, they will gladly take it to the room for you. Extras, like blankets, are available for a tip. Would definitely go back again.…
This hotel is apartment style rooms. We had a one bedroom with a double bed, bathroom, kitchen with some kitchenwares, and a living room/ dinning room. Lots of space. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean, and the kitchenware all layed out and clean. The tv was all in spanish- they did not opt to pay for the english channels. No biggie. The towels, beds etc are changed once every 3 days. Which is also fine with us. Its not a full service hotel. There was always someone on site for security, although Costambar is a pretty safe area. Close to the beach and the restaurants. We only stayed a quick 2 nights, so we did not take advantage of the pool or showers. I was a little bummed there was only a top sheet on the bed, and no blankets or extra pillows. But it was a cheep place to crash out.…
Costambar is located near the beach in an area where there are many custom made houses with controlled access. Security is excellent. Very good deal. The only negative point is the decoration, it is very simple and unattractive.
