First I want to say don't let this review stop you from visiting this beautiful country. I been visiting the DR for 10 plus years, La Romana und Punta Cana area, and never been so disappointed with a resort. This resort needs mager updating, rooms, pool/beach chairs, safe etc. Rooms get cleaned daily, comfortable beds, good AC which was the only 2 good things, but on day 5 we had a visitor. Food is just ok, always the same, no bacon, no special cheeses. Service was not what we used too either, everywhere else we stayed, they bring you drinks to pool/beach, but not here. At nightly shows they catered to local guest, we had to get our own drinks. The safe still uses a key, not a pin, which we thought how many others got key to safe. Even the room key is hanging on a giant keychain, no room card. To charge you phone you need a converter, omg. We stayed any many resorts and never had such a bad experience. If you like washcloth you need to ask for them and hold on to them cause they don't have many. Animation is a small group and not really entertaining. When we told them about the visitor, we was told that is normal and they would spray. Like I said, we love the DR and the people, so don't hesitate to visit the DR, just not this resort. If you like a still ocean visit the south/La Romana/Dominicus area (Caribbean sea) or Punta Cana area, which has some waves (Caribbean/Atlantic sea) To name a few, Iberostar/Catalonia/Viva/Grand Palladium etc. where we always had clean rooms, good service, good entertainment.

My Husband and I stayed at this hotel in August for a full week. Let me just start by saying the pictures of the room was not as they were in the pictures. The tub had rust spots in it. You had to flush the toilet 3 time to get the paper to ho down. We had a king size bed which for me was comfortable enough but they only gave 3 small pillows. They only gave us 1 towel and no wash clothes. We had to ask everyday for 2 wash clothes and 2 towels. They would come clean the room and take the washcloth and towels but only replace with 1. The food was not good. We ate elsewhere everyday for lunch. Breakfast was the samething ever morning. Dinner was a little more tolerable. The specialty dining was ok. It had steak on menu when I asked what cut of steak the waiter replied just steak. It was flat and dry. Our conceair keep trying to get us to go to a time share presentation which was annoying. This hotel look good on the website but probably have not been updated in years. We will never go back again or recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to learn that your stay at this resort was not as pleasant as it could have been; on behalf of the resort, I apologize for any inconvenience. About your comment regarding food variety, to inform you of the 11-day menu cycle that we are offering, in our buffets, you can find a series of crudités, mixed salads, cold specials, stews, soups, a variety of main dishes, kinds of pasta, pizzas, themed corners, three types of meat and three of fish in our "Show Cooking" both in the lunch service and in the dinner. We apologize for the comment from the waiters. However, year after year we try to get the most out of our team who have already worked with us before and who spend a lot of time training, the incorporation of new staff is inevitable. They need a period of adaptation to offer the optimal service, which is our goal. Also, we have taken notes from your comments about towels and room cleaning We regret very much, that we have not satisfied you with such important issues as hygiene and careful cleaning, not only in the noble and outside zones of the hotel (garden, swimming pool, etc…) but also in the rooms of our guests. For many years our chamber maids are working 4 hours, usually between 10.00 and 14.00 hours so as not to disturb the clients in the morning, and consequently, our guests find the room in a perfect state, when they return from the pool area. Therefore our staff prepares with care a maximum of 8- 12 rooms, depending on a series of points. We apologize for the inconvenience caused during your stay. It is regrettable, that the reception manager or Guest Service Manager has not informed us of this issue, because in this case, they would have tried their best to resolve the matter. We are currently investigating this matter. We had the pleasure of having you as our guests and believe that necessary measures must be taken to find who was responsible for cleaning your room, for the days in question. Again, thank you for sharing your feedback, as we are taking this comment as an opportunity to correct those topics and avoid repeating them to other guests. Our sincere apologies once again, Zeus Puertas General Manager

Me and my family’s arrived on Sunday 8.14.2022 with a stay until Saturday 8.20.2022. Upon arrival we were provided incorrect information as to where to check in. Then once we check in they inform us our rooms weren’t ready and we can have lunch and come back to the front at 3pm to obtain our keys. Service in the eating area was good as the employees there where much friendly and hospitable. We return at 3pm and waiting to be attendant it was already 330pm the young lady informed me that 2 out of 3 rooms where ready and to give them 15 more minutes. Keep in mind I was traveling with a 2 year old, a mentally disabled young adult (19 years old) and a autistic 12 year old so getting in the room and making sure they were settle was very important after our flight. I’m a very punctual person and when they tell me a time I am there. On Wednesday I was at the beach and my bracelet slip off my wrist I have very tiny wrist. I went to the front desk with my ID and even my flight information and the young lady, supervisor, 1. Implied that I gave my bracelet to another person and the local tourist tend to that according to her 2. Told me to find it in the ocean. She then proceeds to tell me is $100 dollar charge, keep in mind the bracelet is plastic not the ones that have a chip to open the door and one of my guess did not check in on Sunday due to work so if I wanted to “sneak” someone in I had to need to as I already had an open vacancy in my stay. They treat the foreign tourist that actually tip their bartenders, housekeeping and wait staff like the local tourist. I didn’t appreciate the accusations and then being told to go fetch it in the Ocean. I have being to other resorts in the Dominican Republic where I was not told I needed to pay a fee or accused of trying to sneak someone in. I will not be staying in this resort again and will not recommend it to anyone. I was in this resort in March of 2021 with a party of 5 people and it was better then (for a extended wknd from NY). This place has gone down with hospitality/understanding and super over booked and lack of staff.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. Firstly, on behalf of the resort, I present my sincere apologies for any inconvenience. I am disappointed to learn that your time at this resort was not as pleasant as we strive to create an experience for our guests. Also, we have taken notes regarding your requests and revised the procedures for arrival and special requests with the Reception Manager and Guest Services. As per general information, for Playabachata Resort and the majority of All-Inclusive Resorts in the Dominican Republic, check-in time starts at 3:00 pm; This allows enough time and opportunity to verify rooms and all necessary amenities since guest check-out is established at 12:00m. Additionally, early-check and/or late check out are available upon request and availability for an additional fee. To complement this offer, most tour operators often consider the time of the flight of their clients and pre-arrange by yearly contracts that their clients can arrive at the hotel at certain hours different than the ones established for the regular counter check-in since the flight schedules can differ in many ours from the regular check-in hours. Nevertheless, In no way this schedule affects the check-in and it is a regular practice in most all-inclusive hotels. Regarding the hotel policy Lost All- Inclusive Bracelets, I regret to learn regarding this information not being conveyed during your check-in. It is a piece of standard information presented to all guests as well as described on your registration form. All-Inclusive bracelets can be replaced free of charge if broken however if lost a penalty fee is applicable. Most All-Inclusive Resorts in the Dominican Republic use an identifying bracelet system in order to access all areas including restaurants, bars, and common resort areas, therefore we request all our guests to wear this at all times during their stay. We regret not covering your expectations and we will be delighted if you offer us the opportunity to return to have you back in any of our establishments, once again, on behalf of the resort, I present my apologies for any inconvenience. Receive a cordial greeting, Zeus Puertas General Manager
