We decided to stay here because of the price, across the street from Plaza de Marte, the good news is that it was a good value, clean and safe. The only negative was that on the roof was a noisy bar and the Plaza was always packed with noisy events. This was not always a bad thing as we went... More

The Libertad has only 17 rooms, all of which are up a flight of stairs in a building with no elevator (lift). Keep this in mind if you have difficulty walking stairs. You can walk up another flight to a rooftop bar that gives a view of the adjacent plaza. On the main floor there's an adjacent restaurant where you... More

I have no complaints about this hotel. It's pleasant, clean and well located. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a room towards the back and noise was not a problem despite the party going on in the square opposite. Breakfast was okay and the roof bar gives a good panoramic view of the city. The hotel has... More

We took a tour of the entire island and Santiago was our first stop after Varadero. I have to say that this hotel was our best experience from Santiago. It is placed in the new center of the city, very near to a plaza where they have wi-fi, so sometimes we could use it from the hotel lobby. The rooms... More

Nice hotel very well located on the Plaza de Marte (city center) with clean rooms. I stayed there for 2 nights in a room (without window) during the Carnival in July 2015. The breakfast is included but quite average and basic compared to what you can get in a casa. The receptionists were quite helpful with all the travelers struggling... More

Ok, what do you expect with the money you are paying? It's not the Hilton but it's fair, it's quite noisy so don't expect a goo d night sleep. You better go for a drink at San Pauli -it's about 100 meters on your left- and start your daily excursion at the beaches. The rooms are not the best I've seen... More

This hotel is in a good location, a shortish walk from the main square in Santiago. The rooms are clean, if a bit small. The breakfast is ok, you don't always receive what you have ordered, it sometimes gets lost in translation. The bar is good, it looks out onto the adjacent square.

Hotel opposite Plaza Martes. Price 50 cuc p/night, booked via Cubaism online (print out voucher), easy. Lobby is frequented by the locals as a bar , hang out during day/night, slightly noisy. Parking 2 cuc p/night out front of hotel (Aguilera St) We didn't hear the nightclub as claimed in the LP guide, but upstairs is a "piano" bar with... More

This small, old, hotel on Plaza de Marti is very convenient for all of the central historical & cultural attractions of Santiago, including the Moncada barracks. It is housed in an old Spanish colonial building, with all of the letting rooms on the 1st floor, three of which overlook the main plaza, and the remainder located in an internal atrium.... More

An 18 room hotel located right on Plaza de Marti which is a very busy roundabout. My room was towards the back of the hotel and so I was not bothered by traffic noise. The rooms are basic but reasonable comfortable. My room had a high ceiling but no window and was a bit dark and in need of decorating.... More
