We arrived in Santiago de Cuba on 03/14/17 from the ship Adonia. We had only ONE day in the city. I had read other reviews from World Travelers about sitting on the roof terrace of the hotel that over looked the city. After reading other reviews I knew this was something we had to do! We had a group of...

So here's the thing... To get the very most out of this historic old gem, you need to see everything at the Casa Granda through rose tinted spectacles. I have tried really hard to justify giving this hotel an extra star! But where they shone in a couple of areas, they were really poor in others. Ok let's start with...

Dear ROWLAND Thank you for your time to describe our services on this important recommendation page. We are very sorry about the perception you had of our staff, despite being welcomed with compliments and their exquisite cocktail and enjoy a good room 207, with a perfect location and beautiful view did not feel at ease. Cuban hotels are really not the best - you are better to stay in a Casa as the overall quality and value for money is superior. That said it's pretty hit an miss so do some research before booking anything! Casa Granda is in a fabulous location. The staff are pretty surly, and the food and drinks are average but...

Estimated Maeer. Don't know how much we regret that you have abandoned the installation with such an overwhelming concept if we are to judge by their comments on our services. We do not meet with their expectations and makes us mourn ,but strengthens us at the same time to improve ourselves as people and professionally. Notice a few aspects as...

When you want to judge an hotel, you need always to consider where you are. So, you do not expect the "western standard" in Santiago de Cuba PRO - The location is excellent, just walking distance from almost everywhere, including the Moncada and the harbor - The atmosphere. As I said you can't expect the best comfort, but at least...

I visited the rooftop restaurant of this hotel this month during a day visit to Santiago de Cuba. My visit did not meet expectations in terms of decor which was more like a cafeteria visit than a rooftop restaurant in say, Venice ... Did not stay at the hotel, but had lunch at the rooftop restaurant. Staff was very nice and the food was good. Best of all was the view from the rooftop - to look over to the plaza and all the activities, and you could see our cruise ship in the distance. All directions were interesting. Because we had a...

This was our favourite spot to take a brake while walking in Santiago. Especially in the middle of the day when it is really hot, it was like an oasis away from the heat, always a little windy and relaxing. The hotel is located right at the main square of Santiago de Cuba, Plaza Parque Cespedes. Its rooftop provides great views of the life in the square. It is a great place for a cocktail on a sunny day.
