We had 2 rooms in IsaBella Casa and both were lovely - spacious and clean each with air conditioning and their own bathrooms. We had breakfast at the Casa every day and it was large and delicious. Isabelle and her staff were very welcoming especially when we arrived after midnight on the first night due to our late plane arrival. It is very quiet and a 10-15 minute walk to Central park and a little further to Habana Vieja. Highly recommend!
First time in Cuba and this place was the perfect choice we made. Senior Sergio and his family welcomed us like friends and the room was always clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed and the view of the balcony was great. They also serve breakfast and fresh fruits every day. The family will provide you any information you need and services they can. We hope to be back soon and visit them again!!!
Sergio is very welcoming and helpfull. He helped is with the taxi to go to the beach and the taxi collectivo to the next place. The location is very good, very close to the Malecom and ocean. 15 minutes walking to the old center. The casa was well cared for, clean, the room had everything we needed, bathroom spacious and very good shower. Breakfast was very good with a lot of fruit, juicy, coffee, tea, bread, butter, ham, cheese, egg. The is also a great (Swedish) restaurant nearby, litteraly around the corner. Great place to start your trip in Cuba
We booked casa Isabella on homestay. This was our first trip to Cuba and we read and we had some idea what to expect, but we were a little overwhelmed and confused when we got there. It made all the difference that our hosts Sergio and Isabella were warm and friendly. They were very helpful and super easy to deal with. We had a choice of rooms (all with air conditioning and separate bathroom) because there was a free room and we were pleased with the cleanliness and privacy. Sergio helped with some emails and calls because our phones were very expensive to turn on. The breakfast was fresh and ample and everyone in the house and neighborhood was friendly and genuinely interested in us. We left feeling like we made friends and we would highly recommend Isabella Casa.
My husband Jason and I spent the first 3 nights at Casa Isabella toward the end of December 2017. 5 days before we were due to fly to Havana, I realised that because of the time difference I did not book accommodation for the first night. I contacted Casa Isabella but they were fully booked. Sergio (the owner) organised 1 nights accommodation to stay with his neighbour who lives across the road in her Casa. We arrived at 10.30pm and Sergio and his daughter Elizabeth who speaks really good English was there to meet us. They helped carry our bags across the road to the other Casa. We checked in the next morning and Sergio was there to greet us. We stayed in the upstairs suite which was huge with private bathroom, sitting area, it had a fridge and had air conditioning. You share a front door but the entrance to the suite was separate to the main house so you could come and go as you please. The room was very spacious and clean and it looked exactly like the photos. We would recommend having the breakfast which is 5 CUC per person. It was very nice and kept us going for most of the morning. It consisted of fresh fruit, eggs cooked to your liking, toast, ham, cheese, fresh juice and coffee. The coffee was one of the best we had in Cuba. The staff who works there are very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The location was great, 5 mins to the Malecon and a 15 min walk to Old Havana. We were walking distance to most of the main sites. Sergio and Elizabeth were very helpful with suggestions and they were able to assist us with booking taxis when we needed it. We travelled around Cuba for two weeks and returned to Casa Isabella on our last night in Havana in January 2018. We stayed in a different room inside the main house which was a bit smaller but still came with ensuite bathroom and fridge - it was perfect for our last night. We would recommend staying at Casa Isabella for the great location, beautiful clean accommodation, the host and staff are friendly, lovely breakfast, what more could you ask for?! We would definitely stay here again should we visit Havana.…
We loved staying at Sergio and Isabella's apartment. It's newly renovated and it feels like the lap of luxury compared to some of the other casa's available in Havana. Great hosts, very friendly and helpful, we loved staying there. Breakfast was really good, can't fault it. Highly recommended.
When we arrived in Cuba IsaBella Casa was our first place to go and we directly felt warm welcomed. We couldn't have had a better start for our traveling tour as they also recommended very good casas for our next stays at other places in Cuba. It was clean and cozy and a familiar atmosphere, everything you wish for :) And they also gave us very good dining tips (e.g. Casa Miglis). With simple words - it was awesome at Casa IsaBella :) When we come back to Cuba we will definitely stay here again.
I booked my stay at Casa Isabelle via Homestay, for my last night of a 2 weeks trip around Cuba. I'd chosen a room on Homestay, having seen the pictures posted on the website but on arrival I was upgraded to an apartment at no extra cost! The owners told me they had recently finished decorating an apartment which was across the road from the casa and I was the first to stay there. Obviously I was very pleased and thanked them for being so kind, so my review is about the apartment as I didn't see any of the bedrooms at the main casa. The apartment is fabulous and finished to a high standard. There was one bedroom still being worked on but the room I stayed in was spacious and had air-con. The bathroom was great with a fabulous shower - the best during my stay in Cuba! There was a large kitchen diner area with a big fridge and cooking area and a small balcony outside with space for two chairs. I was greeted by two of the hosts daughters and Isabella's husband who were very welcoming and helpful. Elisabeth in particular speaks excellent English. I'd already spent 4 nights in Habana at the start of my holiday so was familiar with many of the sights already. Breakfast was 5 CUC and was very nice - toast, fresh fruit and juice, eggs cooked to my liking and ham and cheese. Plenty to keep you fuelled until late afternoon. The casa is in a good location, close to the Malecon and a 15 minute walk to the old town. I didn't need to leave for the airport until 3pm on day of departure and the family kindly let me stay at the apartment until then with no extra charge and called me a taxi to the airport when I was ready to leave. I'm not sure what their charges are for the apartment but if you prefer your own space or want to do some of your own cooking while on holiday, then I'd recommend booking here, especially once the second bedroom is completed as there would be space for 4 people. Helpful hosts and good location.…
My wife and I spent four nights in this Casa and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Each room has air conditioning and a private bathroom. The Casa is conveniently located a very shirt distance from the Malecon (3min walk) and very convenient to Old Havana and Centro Havana sights. We walked everywhere. The hosts are lovely. When we were there it was Isabella and her daughter Elisabeth who were hosting us and they couldn't do enough. We took breakfast there each day and they worked around your schedule. Elisabeth speaks great English and was able to assist in bookings and suggestions. There are a lot of Cass's to rent in Havana a and I not sure if they are as good as this one but I strongly recommend Isabella Casa.
The casa itself is very close to the malecon and has a lovely upstairs suite and the living area looks very impressive however we did not enjoy our stay here. Sergio tried to charge us 30CUC for his very small bedroom downstairs with only one bed, with no option of breakfast as he was going to be away on an excursion the following day. When we said we would like to looks elsewhere, he suddenly revealed the large space upstairs and could offer it for 25CUC. He also managed to get a woman to make us breakfast the next day. However he was absent so we could not as him for advice or help with transport to varadero. On the morning we left, he did not offer breakfast stating his wife was unwell despite us watching her walk around seemingly healthy and talk to friends on the street. He also told us he would book a taxi which we waited two and a half hours for it not to show. He then sneakily tried to suggest we stay with him a night longer which we we refused as he had been incredibly hostile and not welcoming.…
