This is situated at the center of action in Havana. Nice to commute to the hot areas so big recomendation about it. Hosted by Sucelis who’s had this business for over a decade so she’s very experienced and profesional in accommodating guests of all walks of life. The house has a wonderful rooftop that I surely recommend to spend the evening in having a cuba libre or a mojito at the end of the day. The rooms are very well attended and clean.

I have recently stayed at this hostel. I would like to say how much I enjoyed staying at this hostel it was like home from home. The hosts were very friendly and the customer service was excellent. The room was very clean and the property was close to local amenities. They provided breakfast in the room price which was really nice and at a minimum cost they provide lunch. I would recommend if you are visiting Cuba havana then try this hostel you will not be disappointed. Me and my friends stayed there for 10 nights.

We've spent 4 nights in La Antonia Hostal and I recommend it to everyone. The hostal is not located in the centre of old town, but in a quieter area walking distance to Malecon (area where locals and tourists hang around and drink). Rooms are nice and clean, and the host (Susi) is great. She helped us with further bookings when we continued our travelling. You've got to try their kitchen, it's like "mama made dish" - very natural and tasty. Don't forget to order lobster:) Enjoy!

We stayed here rather unexpectedly, having booked into another casa around the corner. I'm still unsure why we ended up elsewhere, I assume the other casa wall full, despite our reservation. Iris, the owner of the house was charming and very relaxed. She waited up for us, after a late arrival from Madrid, and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast each morning was provided up on her terrace, with a great spot to sit and watch the hub of activity on the set below. Breakfast included fruit, bread and eggs and set us up well for the day. A great place to stay, just on the edge of habana centro and verdado, and not far from the mallecon.

My wife and I stayed in La Antonia during July/August. Originally we had planned to stay a couple of nights but we were so impressed that we stayed much longer. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were excellent in every way (particularly the owner) and nothing was too much trouble. There is also an excellent restaurante on the top floor. The food is first class and prices are very reasonable. The chef is excellent. If you are visiting Havana don't miss out on this 'hidden gem' you will not be disappointed. Excellent in all respects. Highly recommended.

I have stayed in Hostal Antonia several times. The owner is just the kindest person and helpful on all matters. I particularly love the food in the house restaurant on the top terraze. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables from their own ecological garden. The rooms are well equiped and here you feel at home. I recoment to everyoone

My wife and I just returned from 8 days at Iris's La Antonia Hostal. It's more like a Hotel than a Hostal, but small with only 4 or 5 rooms. Our room was great with a kitchen, full private bathroom (with toilet seat, hot water, nice towels, etc). Our room had an A/C unit and fans and was very quiet. Iris is a lovely host and was great to talk to and helpful with anything we asked. She was also happy to change USD to CUC at a much better rate than anywhere else - it is certainly worth asking as most places will reduce their rate on USD by 10%. The restaurant is great and I noticed that people staying at several nearby Casa's were regular customers of Iris's rooftop restaurant. The best feature for us was the location, as it is very near both the Neptuno and San Lazaro set-route taxi (máquina) routes. For 10 pesos (Moneda Nacional) you can easily get anywhere in Havana. The university steps right outside La Antonia make for a very easy landmark to tell máquina drivers - just ask for "Escalinata" - as everyone knows this landmark. Nearby there is also a very good and popular restaurant called Casa de Tacos that we really enjoyed. Iris also had a driver with a very nice Lada that could take us to the airport for a reasonable price at the end of our stay - same price as a máquina without the heavy smell of diesel exhaust accompanying you on your airplane. Our local friends have had several visitors stay with Iris and they all loved her place. We will definitely stay here when we return to Havana. You get the best of access to Vedado and easy access to Centro and Habana Vieja with this location. Highly recommended!! Thanks Iris - see you again sometime soon! -Davis and Marion…

It's been my second time at this beautiful casa particular, and I cannot wait to come back! Like last year, the rooms are clean, everybody's very friendly, the food of the best quality for a very good price. No matter if you're just up for lunch or dinner (starters and desserts between 1 and 4 CUC, main courses 5 to 15 CUC for delicious langosta...), or wanna stay overnight in one of the three rooms (25 CUC incl. breakfast), the Antonia is a great starting point to discover el Vedado, sitting right next to the monument of Mella, in front of the university. Thanx a lot for making me feel at home again, to Iris, the family and staff! I hope, the next generation has arrived and is well?

La Antonia is a no-brainer for a Vedado-based hostal stay in Havana. Located only seconds from the university, Coppelia ice cream, Habana Libre, and tons of taxis to downtown. The charming restaurant on the rooftop is lovely for a drink or a meal. Iris, the owner, is pro-slowfood and is trying to incorporate her farm's produce into her meals. Definitely worth a stay and/or a meal. Gracias, Iris!
