I strongly recommend anyone not used to Havana to stay in Vedado rather than stuffy and hot Havana Vieja. This accommodation is on an upper floor of a high-rise building with good views and nice wind around the clock. Very clean and nicely decorated, friendly and helpful hosts.
We booked at Casavana for a friend's wedding, as did several friends. Unfortunately, the wedding has been postponed twice due to COVID restrictions in Cuba that prevented many of the guests from traveling to the country, us included. Casavana committed to rebooking us when the wedding was cancelled the first time, but is now pretending that their published phone number is not for the hotel and they won't respond to multiple emails to process a refund for our prepaid stay. We did not book a non-refundable rate so their thievery of of money is unwarranted and unconscionable! We understand COVID has complicated the lives of many, but stealing from your guests is not the answer. If you are capable of this type of deceit, you can't be trusted. Look elsewhere for your stay in Havana!…
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Such friendly people who made us very welcome. Also the very best Pina Colada's ever. . The room was very clean.Nice breakfast Would recommend this hotel highly.
We had an amazing time in the hotel. It is super clean and near the city centre but most of all in a very safe area with good choices of restaurants and bars near by. The staff is friendly and a big plus is the breakfast which is included in the price. Also, there is a secure parking in the building in case you rent a car. Nice touch was the surprise the had for us in our arrival due to our honeymoon. :) Super recommended!!!
Nice, clean hotel, near the city centre. Great view on the Ocean. Bar open all night. Friendly staff, great hospitality. and free wifi. Spacious rooms and well-maintained toilets. We spent 8 nights here and we recommend it to everyone!
It’s a newly refurbished and modern guest house, but in an older high rise apartment building, maybe 10 blocks from the Malecón and ocean. Great ocean views from 11th Floor patios, part of dining room, common area, and checking desk. There is a bar service, “Rei” is the super friendly bartender, and we sit on the patio, in the sun, far above the street, enjoying the views and ocean breezes. Compared to the 4 nights we spent in Hotel Ingleterra, there is no blaring music until 12:30 AM, and we sleep blissfully in the super clean and fresh bed. The bathroom has shower and bidet. Included breakfast varies - we usually have individually prepared scrambled eggs, toast, buns, butter, fruit salad, not watered fruit juice, coffee, and hot milk. Today we sent our laundry to be cleaned, don’t know the cost. Taxi cost to anywhere in Vedado is 5 CUCs, and 10 CUCs to anywhere in Centro Historico. They call the taxi. Elevator down to main floor. The apartments/rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floors. Great security system. Do we like it? Yes, booked here 6 nights.…
We were collected from the airport in a complimentary taxi - a great touch! Others have mentioned how nice the rooms, breakfast etc are & we would certainly agree - although I'm unsure if "FunTravelersfunfun" below actually stayed here as that review is so different to ours & others experience! The staff were extremely helpful & nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom was on the 5th floor & reception, dining, bar etc was on the 11th floor - the lifts were rather erratic at times so perhaps be prepared for this - it is Cuba! The WIFI in the room on the 5th floor was not usable as the main router was on the 11th floor - quite quirky really, but since everywhere else we stayed the WIFI was chargeable, and this place was included - no complaints for this. They arranged a classic car tour & also a taxi for our onward journey to Las Terrasas. Great place, people, food, cleanliness & would recommend.…
Traveled to Cuba over Valentines day and stayed at 3 different hotels around Havana. Casavana was BY FAR the best place we stayed! They arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport which made our first day much easier. Our room was nice and clean, bed was comfy and we had a nice little patio to look out over the city. Wifi worked well enough and was included. Many other places are pay by the hour. The breakfasts here were fantastic! But the staff at Casavana really made the experience wonderful. Everyone spoke a little bit of english which was very helpful to us Americans traveling to Cuba for the first time. They recommended some great restaurants nearby and explained all of the Do's and Dont's of Havana. If we had not spent our first two nights here in Cuba it would have been a completely different experience for us. I cant recommend this place enough! My only regret was not booking more nights here. Shout out to Ray the bartender, he was absolutely wonderful! He gave us invaluable information about where to go and what to do. Our best meal of the trip was a restaurant he recommended. (El Idilio) He also makes a wicked cocktail! Thanks Ray you are the best!…
Huge rip off!! Also it's actually not a hotel but just part of an apartment building. There're other casa in other floors of the same apartment buildings for like 1/4 or 1/5 of the prices they charged us! with the same quality of rooms etc! Can't believe they rip off innocent visitors like this - please return our money!
For Havana this is a great place to stay. You can't compare to an equal establishment in Europe but this is a high quality place for the price in Havana. It doesnt look so appealing from the outside as its located in a slightly scruffy (as are many buildings in Cuba) high rise apartment block, but inside its quite modern and there are great views from the balcony/bar/breakfast area on the 11th floor. Naturally there is an elevator. We stayed in the deluxe suite on the same floor with small private balcony. There are other rooms in this floor as well as on the four and fifth. Our room was spacious with huge comfortable bed, plenty of storage and a good bathroom with glass walk in shower enclosure and a great shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. My only minor criticism was the noisy air con unit which is directly over the bed and gave me a bit of a stiff neck. The staff here are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. They gave us lots of helpful advice and they organised several taxis for us. Ditto the kitchen and housekeeping staff and we were served a very good breakfast each morning with freshly squeezed juice, home baked muffins, warm rolls and choice if egg dishes or toasted sandwiches. The hotel also has the benefit of free WiFi - you don't need a Etecsa card although you need to patient as it is as low. The Casavana is in a very safe location and only about 10 min walk from Hotel Nacional and there are a number of excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. An old American car operating as a colectivo to the centre of Old Havana costs between 2 to 5 CUC, depending on how many passengers and a private yellow taxi 10 CUC. If you want some exercise it's about a 50 min walk. We really enjoyed our 4 days in vibrant, historic Havana and have no hesitation in recommending Casavana as a great place to stay. …
