Havana itself is a wonderful place to visit. The local people are polite and very helpful, but travel with someone that speaks Spanish. And you must ride in one the 50's car they are fabulous, and the owners cannot wait to show them off.

I would not even call this place a hotel. The bed is like a board. The service is terrible. The food in the restaurant is a joke. The shower facility is terrible. Please. Everything about this place is out of character for the beauty of Cuba.

Just a dump, roaches, biting ants, thieves and extortion rampant. The houses are falling apart and rotting. They smell revolting. Expect to go without water every other day, never hot water, power outages, roof leaks badly. The cleaning lady was ok but anything not locked up 24-7 will be stolen... Money, clothes, luggage. Random strangers walk right into the house... More

Travelled here with 8 pals. We had house 22 and 3. From the outside they looked pretty good. We were there for a rustic adventure and had low expectations. We wanted some place we could party and make some noise with bothering other guests. The houses are sparsely furnished and the kitchens have very limited equipment. Don't expect to be... More

Stayed in House #1 by the side road Via de la Mar, house is literally on the beach. From July 2012 -- Water is potted meaning that it is filled into a tank by a truck, no direct pipes. Our house ran out of water, had to call the main office 5 times begging them to bring a truck with... More

I can write a book of this hotel, but I'll try to explain quick. I went there as a tourleader in December 2011. We did a round trip in Cuba, and this was by far the worst hotel. Even one of the worst hotels I ever slept in. Normally we would stay in another hotel (all-inclusive) to end our trip... More

I stayed in house #7 (4 bedrooms, in front of the beach). The house had great spaces and excellent sea view from the living room. Many houses have been updated (in Cuba this is that they were painted and maybe some minor repairs) and considering the cuban standards, it was the best you can get to stay with the extended... Fifth trip to Cuba and not the last...but never again to the Playas D'este until they update big time. These hotels haven't been upgraded since the 1970's and that may be the last time our room was cleaned as well. We had no water in the shower, bugs crawling around, filthy windows that still had the X duct tape on... More

Stayed in #23 for 4 nights - farther from the beach (still a short walk). Nothing leaked in the rain. Our very own (small) pool, lounge chairs and walled garden setting. Villa was scrupulously clean with 2 big bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and huge windows everywhere - a decent condo by any standards. Kitchen lacked utensils, plates and local fresh food... More
