Located at the historical center of Old Havana, just at few steps from the Plaza del Cristo and the great Capitolio de la Habana, our B&B Boutique "Dona Isabel" combines the charm of the characteristic B&B in the heart of tradition and the intimacy of a family home. Four beautiful double rooms and one magnificent suite.
Very helpful staff, clean rooms, good breakfast and near the centre of Old Havana. The owner helped us with a transfer from the airport, with a Sim card etc. Very helpful! Also the rooms had air-conditioning and a good working shower
Beautiful and spacious room, friendly and personal interaction, great location and Gisel is a wonderful hostess! Close to everything by foot and very nice breakfast included. I can highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I stayed in Emelio's casa in December 2019/2020. It was the most incredible experience we have ever had at any accommodation in a foreign country. The host, Emelio, assisted us in so many ways. From showing us where to exchange money into foreign currency, to which restaurants accepted euros and dollars. He booked us tickets for a local music festival, which was an incredible experience. The rooms were super clean, neat and comfortable. Every morning we were treated to breakfast and coffee, made by his lovely granddaughter. Everything about this place was amazing - especially the views from the balcony and the dining area in the plant-covered patio. What a gem 0 i would give anything to go back again!
The location is very central and only a few blocks from Calle Obisbo, Restaurant/Bar la Floredita and el Capitolio. The home is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable with AC, hot water, Spanish style large doors and very high ceilings. It also has a nice balcony where you can watch the street below. There is a nice central courtyard with chairs and tables where you can just relax. There is a safety deposit box for your valuables and you get a key for your room and the casa. Patricia made our breakfast and it was excellent with lots of different types of fruit, bread(which I might add was not available at any of our other locations and was in high demand), eggs, avocado and fresh fruit juice. Not to mention the cafe con leche which was the perfect way to start our day. Breakfast was included in our room price and that isn't always the case, so this was a particularly good deal in our opinion. . Gisele helped us with everything the day we arrived: arranged out transportation from the airport, got us a liter of water(another thing that is very valuable and not readily available elsewhere), changed our money, gave us a map of town, helped us get a SIM card so our phone worked. She also arranged our colectivo to Varadero. She was priceless! It set us up for a great 10 day trip in Cuba. We very much enjoyed our stay here. We felt safe, slept great and were able to make the most of our visit in Habana from this location. Gracias we loved your casa!!…
My wife and I have stayed in maybe 8 casas over 5 stays in Havana and this one was by far our favourite. The location is excellent and very central - only a 2 minutes walk from Capitolio and the bustling streets of Obispo and O’Reillys. The casa is run by Omellio and he is helped by Patrica and who made breakfast for us each morning . The breakfast was typical of what you get in Cuba:- a mixture of fruits , bread, ham, cheese and eggs/ omelette . The rooms had high ceilings and were airy and spacious . There was a lovely area to sit out side to relax/ eat breakfast . But the thing we loved most about the casa was Omellio and the two ladies . They were so friendly and welcoming and really made us feel like friends who were staying in their home. Omellio could not have been more helpful when we needed anything - such a lovely man ! When we go back to Cuba we will definitely be staying here - I would recommend it highly to anyone…
Best Breakfast in Cuba! Omelio ist a outstanding helpful and nice host together with his family. Absolutely clean, perfectly situated in Havanna vieja but silent. We had a wonderful stay on our Cuba Trip there.
Truly enjoyed my stay at the beautiful La Giraldilla - tasteful decoration, great host, lovely breakfast, quiet and authentic Cuban neighborhood. Also great location in old Havana. Major tourist attractions and tourist-bus pickup point all easily accessible on foot. Just a little inconvenience: Wi-Fi is not available at the property.
We had a great reception at Dona Isabel and were very grateful to Omelio who greeted us late at night and helped us to get our bearings in Havana. This casa is in the heart of the old town and makes a great base if you want to be close to the main sights and plazas. Yet very quiet and relaxing with rooms off an inner courtyard. The owner is doing a great job of restoring the property to its 1920s self. Thank you!
This is sad story about cuban hospitality. I ve booked this property in October by the debit card. I didnt know, nor booking com, nor property requested that only credit card is valid. Payment should have happened while i was in Cuba. La Giraldila couldnt effect payment, because debit cards are useless in Cuba and booking com asked me to provide details about credit card But the issue is that you cant make any booking while you are in Cuba through the booking com and while you are in cuba, you cant use internet which is slow and useless. Anyway La Giraldila cancelled my reservation. When I saw this email i ve made phone call to the property and staff informed that my reservation is ok, that i am in system. Next day, they informed me again that my reservation is cancelled and another reservation has been made. Basically, if you are using booking com in Cuba, it is useless, you cant use it while you are in Cuba. Nor booking com, nor property informed me that by debit card, you cant make reservation. When we arrived there, owner told us, that he doesnt know who sent us those email, that booking com is in Italy, and cancellation goes automatically. He was so rude and he didtn want to know anything about us. Cuban way of cheating and cuban way of hospitality. Anyway pproperty is not good located, there are much better casas privats and better located. Conclusion is that this property is disaster! Avoid it!!!!!…
Stayed here with part of my sailing crew on entering Cuba, before our trip to Cienfuegos to pick up our boat and then, returning, stayed and more of the crew joined us. The place is wonderful, our host so generous, accommodation was terrific. Breakfast plentiful and delicious. Don’t pass this place up. We, as a team, highly recommend.
