We checked in here for 4 nights as a recce to see if it would be nice to bring our children and grandkids next year , not reading the reviews properly that it’s adult only ! It’ never the less fantastic . Our first 4 days were at Sandy Lane , which is a very luxury focused hotel .. but the Treasure Beach in its own way definitely holds its own . The staff are fabulous .. every staff member we interacted with was a credit to the hotel . We came to check out the hotel whilst still at Sandy Lane , walking down the beach and Carl and Chadderton made us instantly welcome , and in terms of staff competence and charisma , Treasure Beach is an equal partner to its illustrious neighbour . We looked at reviews of the Colony Club , the House , Tamarind , Crystal Cove and Waves , before choosing our 4 night stay ; and Treasure Beach came out top . And we understand why .. it’s got spacious all suite rooms . Ours had a lovely ocean view , it has super staff , a well stocked bar , and to all inclusive guests it’s all free ! The breakfast is great , the lunch is great , and although the food menu on an evening is a little pedestrian , you are 2 mins from the Cliff & QP , 10 mins from Lone Star , 15 mins from Sea Shed so you won’t starve ! A great convivial bar , great rooms , security , what a great place to stay .. we will be back again at Sandy Lane next Jan and here for a while also , that’s guaranteed .…
Had a fantastic couple of days at treasure beach albeit under quarantine conditions wasn't allowed on the beach tho but the fantastic pool for ourselves basically the suite we had was just awesome massive comfy bed lovely bathroom all clean as a whistle we had amazing food and drinks obviously ordered and bought to our room nothing was too much gardens pool sunloung area just so well kept excellent couple of days well done to all and everyone of the hardworking staff .
The hotel was privately owned and 2 years ago was taken over by Marriott but our experience was that of a small hotel. The staff were excellent especially Shantel the restaurant manager and chadderton in the bar. Really attentive. Also the manager (and I don’t remember her name)regularly walked around asking how everything was. The hotel is a bit shabby but the rooms were comfortable and clean. I believe there will be a refurb this year so I’d love to revisit. on a great west coast location next beach down from Sandy Lane you can walk all the way up the beach to Holetown and beyond. It is adults only all inclusive. It suited us as a base. We had breakfast lunch bar drinks etc. and on some evenings went out to the fabulous restaurants. I don’t think we could have stayed in the hotel for 7 days as the food was a bit repetitive. Apparently you can book dinners in some of the larger sister hotels but we heard from some guests that wasn’t easy. That wasn’t our agenda. …
We have absolutely no complaints about this hotel. The location is excellent, and right on the beach for some fabulous swimming. The suite we had was spacious, clean and well maintained. Housekeeping did a great job every day, and towels were replaced regularly, including the supplied beach towels. The fizz and sweet treat on arrival, along with a rum punch, were most welcome. Dine/drink around program worked well. Free trip to art gallery/pottery on the Tuesday was great, a very informative 4 hours around the island. Food extremely good and Chadderton on the bar is a star. I did see some slightly "sloppy" service to some guests, but on watching more closely, I understand why. So, dear disgruntled guests......I know that you are paying a premium and that staff are there to wait on you. However, they are not paid to have you shout at them, be disrespectful and treat them like dirt on your shoe. A lesson in manners would not go amiss for a few guests, and any subsequent shortfall in service is entirely your own fault guys. Be polite and decent, it's not that difficult surely? We had no issues whatsoever and nor did most people. Those that did.....take a look at your own behaviour first. Treasure Beach is great, even if some of the guests ain't.…
We stayed at Treasure Beach over the Christmas period. We had an amazing time 😊 It’s a solid 4 star hotel in my opinion. The food was especially our favourite! Everything was delicious, the seafood was amazing. Some of the best food we had on this island was at Treasure Beach. We met the chef and he mentioned that he moved here from the Waves hotel a month prior and got a promo to head chef. I think he’s definitely doing a great job so far! The staff are nice and attentive. The rooms are clean and spacious. There’s plenty of sun beds on the beach and the pool so tbh I don’t understand some of the previous complaints about the lack of them. We were happy with everything. :)
It was our fourth stay at Treasure Beach. We had a great time. The place is looking a bit dated and it now needs a fairly major refurb. Location is first class and it is right on the beach. Food is very good. Staff are all keen to help. Let’s hope Marriott start to spend some cash on it soon. Hope to return next year.
I booked long ago and deferred for 2 years due to covid. In the meantime reviews on this site made me nervous and consider alternatives. I need not have worried. I am now on my balcony, 10 days into my stay and I conclude that many of the reviews are unfair. We are having a great time. Our (standard) room is spacious and comfortable with all amenities. It is a contemporary style, up an external staircase. Bath, shower, towels, toiletries, air conditioning etc are fine. The tv controls need perseverance but do work with the usual disappointingly small selection of UK interest ie BBC World and CNN. The reception staff are available and helpful. Excursions and bookings were dealt with efficiently. The iron missing from our room was replaced next day. A hire car was readily arranged. I recommend this for anyone wishing to explore. Only the immediate 4 or 5 miles are busy and elsewhere the island's are quiet and easy, if bumpy. There are highlights within 30mins, eg Flower Forest, St Nicholas (house, rum and steam train) and Sunbury Plantation House. The pool area is small but we have chosen a small hotel and the beach access and view over the sea are splendid. All inclusive guests do indeed colonise the loungers while sitting at the bar but there are plenty of facilities to go around. The drinks flow unchecked. The breakfast offers a good buffet with additional items available to order at no extra charge. I twice had good omelettes, quickly served. The service of breakfast drinks needs attention in that responsibility seems to pass from the order staff to others who are often slow in performing. The lunch menu is static but acceptable and service and quality are fine. The dinner menu has limited choice but enough and the food was good. Perhaps the kitchen struggles at busy times. Service was rather erratic, with junior staff seriously short of training and guidance. They lacked the politeness, polish and direction of their few leaders. This is an area of criticism which I support. A second glass of wine would usually require a trip to the bar. Ordering a dessert and coffee requires perseverance. We requested and received a booking next door for dinner at the Tamarind. This is a large tourist hotel with a massive buffet selection, available quickly. This was an interesting change but not reasonably to be expected or desired in the hotel we selected. Overall we have chosen a small hotel and found the facilities to be everything we hoped. Management could address small frustrations with junior staff. Potential guests should not be deterred by the culture of criticism apparent in many reviews but if you want extensive facilities and fast food you should be booking elsewhere.…
I booked this hotel thinking I would have Marriott level quality. This hotel should not be flying a Marriott flag. I knew the decor was dated from the photos, so that was no surprise. The room they put us in had broken furniture, missing knobs, torn fabric a TV that wasn't even mounted and very dirty urine stained grout in the bathroom. I had read many reviews before I booked - many of which were very positive. There were a few negative ones but I wrote that off as people who were too picky. That was a mistake. When we checked in I was so surprised by the very poor condition of the room. After we complained, they moved us to another room, which was better but still did not have a functional lock on the patio door. The staff at the hotel are very hard working and the food was good. If you book here and have back luck in your room assignment, you could get assigned a terrible, unsanitary room. I would not book this hotel again. It is not up to basic standards at Marriott and certainly not an Autograph level quality. …
Average. Very very average. The only reason it’s even average is because you’re on a beach in the Caribbean, nothing to do with the hotel. Rooms okay, but tried to palm us off with a ‘sea view’ room that had absolutely no sea view due to overgrown greenery. Food actually good, but portions small, and took up to two hours to arrive on many occasions, completely unacceptable. ‘Dine around’ is a total farce. In 8 days despite asking for a table at 8am every morning we were only able to eat out once. We went to Waves and it was a truly delightful evening. Staff 50/50. Half extremely competent and kind, the other half really do not want to be there, are slow, and frankly a bit rude. One member of the waiting staff, who we complained about on a number of occasions, is actively unpleasant to be around. Contrastly, the bar staff and secretory staff are extremely competent and kind. Beds on the beach aren’t set up. Most mornings we had to wait up to 15 minutes for someone to do so. When it’s high tide you can’t use the beach, getting a seat around the pool is impossible due to people putting towels on them at 7am then not going to them all day. If the tide is high (most of the time) then they don’t physically have enough space for all guests. Their ‘solution’ is to send you to a different hotel. To add insult to injury there was significant construction going on in the hotel which noone was told about. Noise so loud even 50m away on the beach you couldn’t drown out the noise with headphones.…
This was a special trip to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary, we had chosen carefully and were eagerly anticipating our stay at treasure beach. On arrival we were delighted to find we had been upgraded to the Pelican Suite which was amazing with fantastic sea views, an enormous bathroom and even a plunge pool. The bed was super comfortable and although the furnishings were a bit tired it was amazing - there was even a stunning view from the closet. Throughout the week the room was well kept by housekeeping, including a turndown service each evening. The grounds were lovely and once again very well kept. The loungers were comfortable but the mattresses were left out each night meaning they were wet in the morning and often had bird poo on them. The beach was lovely. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked either initiative or direction. Very often the bar was left unattended and only once were we offered a drink whilst we were sunbathing. The restaurant was a total disaster. Having only one restaurant on site means it needs to be of a good standard and offer a reasonable choice. The tapestry restaurant did neither. On our first evening after a long days travelling and a four hour delay waiting for our luggage at Bridgetown Airport we ordered dinner and waited and waited… after 35 minutes a waitress asked if everything was ok, we replied that we hadn’t yet received our food - turns out they’d lost our order and none of our meal choices were available. We gave up and went to bed! We hoped that was a one off, but sadly not. The restaurant was woeful, it often opened later than advertised and service was often painfully slow. The lunch menu was the same each day, ok but slow. Dinner was different each evening but only offered 3 choices of both starter and main course, one of which was always vegetarian pasta. We weren’t served any beef for the entire week. The desserts didn’t vary. The food was ok but we didn’t have a single exceptional meal.On average a 3 course dinner took between 1.30-2 hours. Obviously there were staffing problems but these were made worse by a lack of direction. We had also been attracted by the dine around option enabling you to dine at neighbouring Elegant Resort properties- we managed one lunch at the next door hotel but every request for a dinner reservation was declined. The treasure beach has the potential to be a charming boutique hotel, the property is in an excellent location and is visually attractive BUT it needs a significant investment in both maintenance and personnel to bring it up to 4star standard, at the moment it’s barely a 3. Currently it falls far short and doesn’t represent good value for money.…
