This location was booked last minute because my original place was not yet available until the next day. Upon arrival you had to ring a bell, which would be odd for a lodge( as they claim). A very nice lady opened the door and there...More
Left and my family stranded at 3:00AM with no place to stay. We are traveling with my 2 daughters 9 & 11. Thanks goodness for the kind taxi driver who stayed with us the whole time until we could get new accommodations.
So, I was looking for a place to stay in Barbados. This hotel was one of the cheapest I could find that didn't look like a total dump. I saw some negative reviews, but thought for the price, I had to give it a chance....More
Again, have now spent our 13th. annual visit to Walmer Lodge for 8 weeks. Not the most luxurious place in Barbados, but, if you like the best beaches and great hospitality, this is the place for you. Hospitality is second to none. Keep up the...More
Recently stayed at Walmer Lodge Apartments February 14 to 26 2015. The accommodations was excellent. Very friendly and helpful owners. Mr Worell brought me and my daughter to her very first appointment on the other side of town, to Beckles Road. From then on we...More
Well, it's a small island, so everything is relatively close ;) It's on the other side of Bridgetown, looks like the Yacht Club and Walmer Lodge are roughly the same distance from the city centre, on opposite sides.

If you hire a car, the distance isn't that far, although driving through Bridgetown city is...an adventure. Public transport is pretty good across the island.
I enjoyed my stay that I would deal with the distance, but I think it's a bit far. Depends on your patience, I guess.
I tried to post a link to google maps to give you a better idea of where everything is, but TripAdvisor won't allow outside links. I would suggest searching for Barbados Yacht Club on any map site (I just plugged it into Google, and they provided their own map). Walmer Lodge is to the northwest (up and to the right), you will scroll through Bridgetown, past Kensington Oval and Mt Gay Distillery, and up to Walmer Lodge (it was marked on my map, but that could be because of my search history)
Enjoy your stay.
It's 23 km (about 15 miles), a half hour drive. I rented a car, so can't speak for taxi rates. I found a quote online of US$30 from the airport to Holetown (which is a bit further up the coast), so probably in the US$25... More

Hello
We will like to thank all those wonderful guests who have supported us over the years
We are an intimate, "HOME AWAY from HOME" type property, our guests are usually, sharing, caring, loving, persons who non the less value their privacy, after the tours came to a clean, cool quiet, private environment.
We try to assist our guests in any way we can offer honest assistance if required, or stay out of their way if necessary as well, most require the same apartment every time it is like a returning relative, it is time we get out of the business but
Regards
Keith & Marge
