We really enjoyed Eagle Aruba! The casino isn’t open but Glitz is open just across the parking lot. We had a little luck there. The room here was exceptional. Large walk in shower, large bedroom with plenty of storage and closet space. Everything was clean. The ac was nice and cold. I cannot the express enough how nice and kind the staff was here. It is not ocean front but just a quick walk across the street. The beach wasn’t crowded. We had free access to the Palm shade cabanas on the beach. You pick a spot and they bring you lounge chairs. Sbarro staff will keep you fed and buckets of chill if you wish. There is also a bar there on the beach if you prefer to order there. Only restrictions around covid stuff was mask wearing inside. Do not let the restrictions keep you from going. They are very reasonable to deal with. The three pools on this property were all clean and refreshing. Enjoyed them all!! You will not go wrong with this property. It is affordable and well worth your money!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! We will be returning!

I can't say enough good things about this resort. This was our second time staying here. Our room was clean and comfortable. The property is not on the beach, but it is a short and safe walk to the beach. The pool area is beautiful, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived here just as Aruba unfortunately got their first two positive tests for the COVID-19 virus. The government took decisive action to protect the public. The general manager of the resort left daily updates on the phone message system informing us of changes to adjust to the government regulations. Some resorts closed and made their guests leave, while this resort offered a special rate for guests who were stranded because of cancelled flights. We will definitely be back!

We just came back from this resort, and we loved Aruba but this resort left much to be desired. Check-in was a disaster. We had been traveling all day and were with a large group all of whom were very tired. We had three people helping us, with all three giving us different information. The check-in took over a half hour and we left very frustrated. Even simple questions like what will our view be were not answered clearly or correctly – and the staff did not know what they were talking about. We were told we would only see the highway from our balcony, when in reality we could see the ocean on one side and the water treatment pools on the other side. This should not have been a hard question to answer. When we finally made it to our room, we found that it was not very clean. There was dirt and hair (not ours) on the floor and in the bathrooms. Finding someone else’s hair on the floor should never happen but I would have let it slide if it was just one spot in one room, but this was in multiple rooms and there was dirt as well. Clearly the room was not fully cleaned before we checked in. We called housekeeping three times and it took them over an hour to get there. The front desk was apologetic but there wasn’t any follow-up. I would expect that the manager would have called that day and the next day to see how things were, but that simply didn’t happen. Maybe a dirty room at check in is no big deal to this resort but to me its not ok. The AC in our room ran constantly and we set it at 70 and it never hit the set temp. The room was typically at 74-77 degrees, which was a bit warm for us. We had maintenance come three times, but it never seemed to be working correctly. I understand that Aruba is hot all the time and the building maintains heat, but the AC unit should be strong enough to keep up. The pools were refreshing but were not always clean. With the number of kids using the pool there should be some level of cleaning done throughout the day, but I only saw the pool being cleaned first thing in the morning. There was a security guard at the top of the waterslide whose sole job was to make sure people waited until the prior person was down the slide….this particular security guard kept falling asleep and I had to report it to the front desk. None of the guards stopped people from going down the waterslide with multiple people at once – and even allowed people to go headfirst if they wanted. The kids loved the waterslide and fortunately no one got hurt, but It was kind of a free for all so make sure you watch your children carefully! Walking to the beach was not as easy or clear as we expected. I knew this was not directly on the beach but there were not signs or a clear walkway or anything. We had to cut through the casino and walk through another hotel’s lobby and then go through that hotel’s pool area and cross the street. The beach was definitely not as easy to get to as we had hoped. People really need to know about the sewage smell that is very apparent on the section of beach that Eagle Aruba resort uses. This should be disclosed on the site and on Interval International. The water treatment plant lets off a sewage smell from the pipe that flows just past the Amsterdam Manor Hotel, and whenever the wind changed direction there was a strong poop smell. We did not know about this beforehand and if we had, we would not have stayed here. I could smell it from out hotel room balcony as well. Fortunately, if you go further down the beach there is not a smell, but you need to go down about 2 or3 blocks. The front desk didn’t have any information on this, which I found to be very odd since the smell was so apparent. We were surprised to find out there was not really any kids activities being run – but this may be due to COVID though. One scheduled activity was beach volleyball, and the front desk told us to rush down to the beach for it – where we waited for 30 minutes and then we went back to the activities desk who said it had been cancelled because the ball was deflated (apparently there is only one ball). There isn’t great communication at this resort between departments, and this is just one example. A few poolside activities for the kids would have made all the difference. On several occasions we had housekeepers and maintenance come into our room or an elevator we were in without a mask. This is in no way acceptable when we are still in the middle of COVID, and there really is no excuse for that. When we called because our coffee maker was broken, it took 3 calls to finally get a new one and the housekeeper brought us a dirty used coffee maker and entered our room without a mask! This was gross and I am still shocked. I’m not sure how the COVID compliance is at this resort but to me it seemed very lax. The fire alarms would go off randomly even in the middle of the night, for under a minute each time. One time we were at the pool and two security guards were there when the fire alarm went off. Neither of them even flinched or said a word when it went off. I asked them why the alarms keep going off randomly and they said it was because the resort was closed for a while and because of construction. I asked how we would know if it was a real alarm or when we should take it seriously, and they just shrugged it off and said it wasn’t a big deal. While I found the alarms to be slightly irritating, the bigger issues is the safety concern that could exist when people just ignore the alarms if it was a real fire. For its faults this resort wasn’t terrible – but it was Mediocre at best. The kids really liked the pools and the bar/restaurant staff were very friendly. Our room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable, but as I stated above it wasn’t very clean and the AC didn’t work well. The sewage smell at the hotel and the beach was gross! Had I known what I know now I would have kept looking for a better resort to take my family to. This resort should not be allowed to be listed with Interval International because of the health and safety issues I mentioned above. My advice is look elsewhere.

Stayed here years ago when it was named Tropicana. The rooms back then really needed to be updated. This time, we stayed in a renovated 3 bedrooms unit and it was really nice. Washer and dryer in room really helps if you’re going to stay for at least a week. Daily housekeeping service really keeps things clean when you’re traveling with 4 kids. Only 2 things that were a little annoying: 1. One of the towel exchange staff was overly nit-picky about towel exchanges. 2. The barbecue grill names are confusing. They have various names for the grills (ie - sunset, sunrise, waterfall, etc) but even the staff aren't exactly sure where they are. They should just number them.
