Galleon Beach was one of the nicest beaches in the area, a lovely place to relax on the sand and go for a swim with a nice beach bar and restaurant. That was until the new owners took over the bar/restaurant a few months ago. Now it is noisy, vulgar and unpleasant with music booming out across the whole beach....

An awesome position that unfortunately doesn't match with the status of the cottages where they would need of new manutention. Outside all is fantastic , inside not so good. Kitchen corner and bathroom are unsatisfacting

I was hesitant to give a 4 star rating because this is really a 2/3 star property, but for the independent, low maintenance traveler it's perfect. It is in need of renovation, but it's got all the makings of a five star property, just like it's neighbor. The property has a very pretty setting. The vibe is quiet, private and...

It is hard to review Galleon Beach as the cottages are in such dire need of upgrading. However, that said, they are functional and clean and have the basics of what you need for self catering. The location is wonderful, right on the beach and just a short boat ride (free during the day) to English Harbour. You can walk...

We had a good stay at galleon beach, just front of the beach. The bungalow was nice but old and the terrace is not well maintained. The beach is rocky and as we swim along the beach, we saw a long chair at the bottom of the sea. The price is too high for the confort. On sunday, I beach...

When we visited Antigua (Aug 3 - 12, 2007), Galleon Beach Hotel was shut down, and we were told, possibly for good. The restaurant, Calabash, was working to open by Aug 14. The hotel manages several of the villas on the hillside behind the hotel. We stayed at Lime Hill Villa. I cannot say enough good things about this experience....

Well painted, clean, large and airy. The cottages have basic furniture but comfortable. They also have a full kitchen. Prior to arriving, you can ask the hotel to go grocery shopping, which we did. This made it very convenient to have our breakfast in our cottage every morning. For dinner we went to the connected Calabash restaurant, which was very...

My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Antigua. We stayed for four nights in a two bedroom garden cottage (Mayflower) with my parents. The hotel accommodations were nice. The cottage was clean and bug free. It was nice to have our own kitchenette so that we could enjoy breakfast on our patio overlooking the bay. Our...

What a fabulous cottage, right on the beach, with the trade wind blowing through from front to back to keep us cool in the night. The cottage was old but comfortable and homely, with nice touches like fresh flowers from the maids. All the staff were friendly and helpful, we can see why people come back here year after year,...
