I’m giving this hotel a 4 star review despite my disappointment in the upkeep of the place because it’s location to English Harbour and so many restaurants is very good and JJ has been very helpful and has come through on every ask that we have had. Unfortunately the some areas of the place seem neglected and require some upkeep, but I can imagine the costs involved for that on this island don’t make that an easy task. Some of the descriptions I’ve seen online are untrue as in, there is no bar or restaurant, I’ve heard or seen nothing of “spa services” or an in-room safe. We are in cottage 4 and I feel it may not be as nice as the other 4 cottages on the property but I can’t say for sure as I haven’t been inside the others. They do look much nicer from our vantage point on our screened balcony (that is full of openings\rips making it useless to keep bugs out). It would be better to have it open aired like the other balconies as the way it looks now, adds to what I’m referring to as lack of upkeep. The pool chairs are falling apart and the cushions are covered in black mould so not all that inviting and nothing like pics that I’ve seen. The space is still very comfortable especially the beds! They are great if you like a good firm mattress. This place could be a gold mine with a little TLC and likely a fair chunk of money to update some things. All in all, we’ve had a great vacation and JJ has delivered on everything he has promised and has offered us great connections and advice.

A magical place to get away from the madness of the world. The host gives you old fashion luxury hotel care. The property is enchanting with the surrounding private gardens. From here, I walked to the Westwind Beach, my favourite, and made many friends along the way. Thank-you JJ! I WILL BE BACK ! Please see my photos...

My boyfriend and I stayed here from 5/31/18-6/5/18. I came across this rental after my initial rental cancelled on me and thank God it got cancelled because I found this place. Vine Cottages is exceptional and I have traveled and rented properties over the last three years. First, when we arrived GPS took us straight to the location and Michael (hostess) was there to answer any questions we had. The location is ideal and in Antigua you will need a car to get around as taxis can be expensive. We rented a car which was the best way to see the island. Now our cottage was clean and spotless enough room for my boyfriend and I to have our own space. We didn't use the balcony and I only went out there to take pictures of the beautiful views. The pool was nice although they are working on making it more blue. We had daily cleaning service and this was wonderful and unexpected. I have never been to a place that I've rented where they cleaned every day. We wondered how they knew when we left the cottage because each day we left at different times and each time we came back it was clean. The wifi went down for a day and a half once and then came back up. I do have a few suggestions to make this place even more better: 1-Exterminate as there are lots of mosquitos (we did get our own bug spray), 2-The balcony could use cleaning/dusting although we didn't use it, 3-A few more pots and pans needed. Unfortunately, when I booked the trip I didn't know that it was the slow season and most bars and clubs shut down in Falmouth where we were staying. We had the chance to visit a few bars there (Live and Paparazzi). We also went to Shirley Heights and you can see views of Guatemala from there and there is a BBQ and live bands which was really nice! In St. John which is the capitol where things are happening we went to King's Casino(there are a few casinos). that Friday night because they have seafood night which was ok but we probably would have been better off ordering from a regular menu. We went to Nelson's Dockyard which had nice views during the day and it's $11 to get in. Now, we were able to get in for free and came back We cooked most of our meals, but had the opportunity to sample the island cuisine. I will definitely come back to Vine Cottages and I will come back before or after the off season. Tips: Go food shopping at the supermarket that is close to the airport (XPZ supermarket) as this is the biggest supermarket with more food options than the ones close by Vine Cottage as we ended up shopping here twice annndd bring your own canvas food shopping bags because Antigua doesn't provide paper/plastic bags and will charge you for a shopping bag. Rent a car unless you intend to stay in St. John, ask the locals about things to do, bring or buy bug repellent. Oh and we went to Pigeon beach....wasn't the best beach I've been too, but close to Vine Cottages so visit another beach. Can't wait to come back!

The pictures are just what you see on their website - the place is clean, spacious, and very modern, especially a huge bathroom/wetroom with three different shower heads. The views are absolutely gorgeous and each cottage comes with a large balcony. The beds are large, comfy, and there two flat screen tv's - one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The only minor drawback was the location - up a winding dirt road up a hill, so having your own transport is definitely recommended. All in all it was an excellent value for what is provided, and for the price you pay you can always use the savings for a car (or taxi).
