Lovely calm secluded place in the middle of the island. Lionel was a very helpful and friendly host, picking up and dropping from the airport and also giving lifts if he could. Lovely and peaceful place to sit out and relax. Apartment was clean, fairly basic but had everything you need. The wifi was variable which was frustrating at times. A bit in the middle of nowhere which is good in some ways (very peaceful) but at times would have been nice to be able to walk to a bar/restaurant/shop. Would stay again but maybe mix up my trip in Antigua so as to do some time staying on the coast as well. Bearing in mind just how expensive some places are in Antigua it was excellent value for money.
This property was clean and comfortable. In my opinion a bit secluded tho. However, We truly enjoyed the two nights I spent here. The host Lionel was friendly and accomodating. He made us feel lije family from the very first night. Even trusted us enough that when we checked and asked about paying him he said the next morning. The next morning came and went and payment never happened until our departure. I would highly recommend this place especially if you want to be away from everything else. One thing tho is that the pull out sofa is uncomfortable but all in all a great place.
Right when we landed they had a complimentary taxi ride from the airport to the villa. After that we came into our beautiful place of living and were amazed with the wifi service and hospitility. The scenarey was perfect, and they had all the necessary equipment for cooking in the kitchen. The sheets were clean, the place just felt extrememly friendly.
We recently returned from a one month stay at the Lamblion and were totally impressed with the hospitality and general cleanliness of the facility. The location is in the center of the island away from the noise and bustle of the resort areas, one requires a car (Lionel can arrange a rental if required ). The majority of the beaches (300 plus) are approximately 20 minutes in any direction. Antigua is an expensive island to visit, staying at this facility makes the trip a lot more economical.
Antigua was just a stopover place; the only place to catch a plane for a day trip to the volcano devastated island of Montserrat, so being pretty much in the middle of no place, but convenient to the airport, was part of the plan. I spent that evening at the LambLion Holiday Apartments, run by the most charming and helpful couple. He is 65, recently retired, and started this Band B so they would have something to do. After the trip from the airport, I took a walk-round before dinner. The hotel owner then drove me to Freeman’s Village, the nearest village, where we picked up a quick dinner and to bed. I took another walk in the morning through the area (quite sparsely populated except for goats and chickens and an occasional house) and then the hotel owner drove me to the airport for my day trip to Montserrat. After my excursion, the owner again picked me up at the airport upon my return to Antigua and we stopped to pick up a banana at the local farmers' market and a fish dinner from the local village. Weekend evenings the whole village turns out, grilling fish, chicken, etc.. We returned to the hotel, I chased a lizard off the lounge, and had myself a creole celebration with the food I picked up and a papaya I picked from the hosts' garden. Again, perfectly acceptable lodgings (essentially a full apartment) and a host and hostess that would be hard to beat.…
