My wife & I stayed for 1 night on the Portuguese Camino. It is located centrally and caters primarily for pilgrims on the walk. Room was ok and clean. We had our evening meal in the bar but it wasn't great. Glad we had only 1 night here.

Clean, comfortable room, bathroom had excellent hot water and water pressure. Charming hosts, delicious breakfast. Industrial washing machine and large balcony with huge clothesline and clothespins. Many common areas available to relax in socially distant manner. Judging from the amount of luggage in the lobby and the number of breakfast places set, a large group had booked in, but we never encountered them.

This hotel was in a good location. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was good. The bed was very small and not good for two people. The wifi might as well have been non existent. Basically you couldn’t send anything and they need to fix this. We had to go to a cafe to get wifi that would work.

This was our 11th hotel on our Portuguese Camino from Porto so by this time we had learnt to keep expectations in check especially after we crossed into Spain where the hotels were decidedly more shabby. Not in a million years would I choose this hotel for a holiday but on the Camino it is absolutely fine. Our room 305 was large and bright and quiet. Location of hotel is a bit miserable but bar is lively. Food was so so but breakfast was very good. It is what it is, convenient that’s all

I and 4 girlfriends stayed here one night whilst on the Portuguese Camino booked through a specialist Camino company. The hotel appears to be a 1* so we were expecting basic, which it was. The evening meal was in a very large hall (as per photo on site), huge groups of people. The food was very basic with no choice and consisted of vegetable soup, fish with thinly sliced potatoes and a bottle of wine. It was quite tasty but not what we would have ordered. The food was just dumped on our table with no conversation except to ask if we wanted red or white wine, and we were not asked what we would like to eat. On our hotel voucher it said: 2 courses, or just a main course of the value of the 2 + drink, bread, desserts, tea/coffee, not what we received at all. There appeared to be one or two people trying to serve the very large dining hall and they were very stressed. The atmosphere in the hall was fun, but incredibly noisy so could not really talk to your companions. The bedroom was of decent size with twin beds which were comfortable. The room was noisy from other people in their rooms/corridors and also the traffic outside. There were also a large number of flies in the room. Breakfast was much better as there were no large groups in the smaller breakfast room that we ate in. The food was fine, melon lovely. Had ham, eggs, cheese, yogurt, etc. Reception was well organised and despite the hotel/hostel being very busy with lots of big/small groups, our luggage was correctly collected and deposited at our next hotel. It was disappointing as with better food with choice (as expected) for our evening meal and less noisy, it would have been a much better experience.

Hotel easy enough to find not far off Camino route. Staff are ok. Restaurant serves the cheapest, tastiest, largest meals I've ever seen. Bar was perfect. Room was very clean and good size. There was no air conditioning, I didnt sleep at all. You could hear people talking, coughing ect in the other rooms. I wouldn't stay here again.

Hotel O’Cruceiro in Caldas de Reis, is located next to very busy road with heavy traffic and above busy, noisy restaurant/ bar and opposite a supermarket to which goods are unloaded from a heavy vehicles at 5 am. does not offer rest needed after the day off walking. The room was hot. It has spoilt the whole walking holiday, which I booked through Macs Adventure - Camino Portugués Coastal Way. It was not possible to sleep whole night. I really should not mention the broken toilet seat, which added up to the extremely unpleasant feeling. The worst experience ever.

This hotel deserves more than one star. Friendly, family run, clean and comfortable, bright rooms and a good dinner and breakfast to speed us on our Camino way. Very glad to recommend it. It is near the Centre of town and with a supermarket over the road and pharmacies galore. What more could aching limbs and blistered toes ask for?!

We stayed at this hotel on our Camino adventure, it was a lovely hotel, clean room, nice friendly staff and the food was nice. It was in a close location to all the shops and things to see in Caldas de Reis, especially enjoyed the thermal baths around the corner

We stayed here for 2 nights during our Camino. We had a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. The only problem we had here is that the room doesn't have airconditioning. We can also hear people in the corridors.Their staff were very friendly and accommodating. Its perfectly located right across Froiz which is a big grocery chain.
