My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. 5 stars is not enough. It should be 10 stars for everything that it offers. The location is perfect with beautiful views of the Trebbia valley. Remote and peaceful about 3 miles outside Rivergaro. The Torre was built in 1500 with stone walls outside that are 3 feet thick. The first day Grazia with her two grandchildren, Leo and Matilde, took us for a walk through beautiful fields down to the castle below. There is covered parking upon entering the property through an electronic gate that opens with a key that will be provided. We stayed in the Teodolinda room. It is on the bottom floor with its own private entrance that opens into the beautiful front garden that has chairs and tables for relaxing outside. It is spacious, clean with a vaulted ceiling and frescoes painted by (Grazia's husband) Luciano on the ceiling and wall. The bathroom has modern fixtures. The room stays refreshingly pleasant I assume because of the thick walls. There is a heater in the room for colder evenings. Each morning Grazia has a breakfast of freshly cut ham and home baked cookies and cakes along with freshly squeezed juice. Grazia is a DELIGHT. She is always smiling. Always gracious. Will offer suggestions for touring nearby, small interesting villages and suggest fine dining options. Room prices are very reasonable for what this experience offers. This was our third trip to Italy. This B&B was overwhelmingly the best experience of all our trips to Europe. MILLE GRAZIE Grazia, Luciano, Leo and Matilde. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

I spent 4 days at this lovely B&B. Grazia and Luciano welcome you like friends. I arrived on a hot afternoon, I was travelling on my own for business but chose this area because of it's beauty. I wanted to use my free time there. Straight away I was given a big glass of fresh apple juice which was a lovely touch. Breakfasts are delicious, all home made, bread, cakes, jams, fantastic, you could keep eating..We ate out on a little balcony overlooking the valley and the mountains. It is like staying in a little castle. Infact it is the old watch tower for the castle just down the hill, Castello Montechiari and the oldest parts of the building date back to the 1400s, the place oozes history. It gave me a nice feeling to be there. My room was very quaint with stone walls and had everything I needed. As for the Val Trebbia, I left my heart there many years ago, it is absolutely stunning to say the very least, lying by the river is the most relaxing feeling, cool breeze even on a hot day. There are so many places to visit if you are on holiday, Bobbio, San Salvatore (that's where my heart is), Brugnello. The valley splits into 2 further up. The Val D'Aveto and Val Trebbia that both lead to the sea are some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

My husband, my 8 months old daughter, my mother and I stayed in Torre dei Magnani for three nights in early July. We were warmly welcomed by the owner Grazia and her family (Noemi, Matilde, Edo, Giuggiola the dog, Ettore the cat) Grazia was very helpful an immediately made us feel as we were part of a small community. She helped us with our baby and made a cot and high chair available. The building is just stunning, with old, thick stone walls, wooden shutters, a pleasant garden and cosy furniture. All the rooms have hand-painted wall decorations and show an exceptional attention to details. Grazia kindly gave us indications about what to do in the area - there is plenty to keep you busy with!! Her breakfasts were sooooooo scrumptious!!! She makes and bakes most of the food herself- home made jams and marmalades, cakes, cookies, fruit juices, bread etc.on display. Definitely way above any average b&b I have been to. It could not be any fresher or tastier. While we were there, she picked some cranberries from the bush in the garden and made a cranberry cheesecake for the morning after. Gluten free options are also available, as well as a savory alternative (cured ham, eggs or cheese). All in all, we had a great stay and cannot recommend Torre dei Magnani enough‎

Beautiful. Our hostess was warm, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and homey. Staying at the B&B was a great experience; not living out of a suitcase in a hotel room. The breakfast was more than you can eat. Very accommodating to all of our requests. We would go back there at any time.
