Came across this place while we were traveling in Cefalu, decided to switch it up a bit and try something different. Graterri is a small and beautiful italian village straight out of a fairy tale up in the mountains. The town is very quiet and picturesque. It was nice walking around and relaxing in nature. We took a hike up...

The drive to the place was not for the faint hearted... We went up high up the mountains in a narrow road with many sharp turns. If youre not a confident driver this might not be for you. The village though was very classic and beautiful, charming authentic place that was a nice break from the touristy coastal areas. Dimora...

Gratteri is a small mountain village, untouched by tourism. If you want peace, hilly mountain walks, superb food then this is for you. If you are after laid on entertainment, late nights and bars then perhaps not. We booked (and had exclusive use of) the spa which includes an enormous jacuzzi and a steam room, but stayed in the main...

The village Gratteri is off the regular path. It is a sleepy town, relativly untouched by mass tourism. We (fam of 3, incl 3yr old daughter) stayed at Dimora dei Fratti in the separete house. It's a small house with on the first floor the kitchen and toilet, second floor a couch and bed and on the third floor the...

The hotel looks like another town house made of stone, yet the inside of the rooms shows great thought and design (the rooms are designed by Deborah, one of the owners). The staff is very attentive and courteous, they (Renato, who looks after the property and also of course Markus and Deborah who are the owners) always want to make...

We stayed for two nights in this lovely place. The village Gratteri lies in a stunning position with fantastic views down to the coast 650 metres below. It is less than 30 minutes drve from the bustling resort of Cefalu, yet Gratteri is totally quiet. That also means that there is practically no tourist infrastructure apart from Dimora dei frati....

A little hard to get to. I am very proud to have driven back and forth down Gratteri alleys without scratching my Audi. Once at this wonderful B&B, Laurel and Hardy look-a-likes Renato and Sarafino (the gentle giant) will take care of you. The rooms are fantastic in my opinion. They have a querkiness that I love, and very rarely...

We are 3 sixty plus travelers and had 6 wonderful nights and days in Dimora dei Frati. As we travel by public transport Markus the owner picked us up at the airport in Palermo. The village of Gratteri has limited bus service and is easier reached by car. This place is for nature lovers and hikers and people who want...

Lovely find in a very pretty village nestling on the edge of the Madonie and very central for sighseeing in the Madonie and along the coast towards Messina or Palermo; stylish comfortable rooms; excellent food. Deborah and Marcus are very friendly hosts and we felt very at home as soon as we arrived. Thoroughly recommended.
