Castle Spa Wagenkull offers luxurious and romantic accommodations in a total of 30 rooms and suites located in historical castle, which is made unique through its incomparable history and eye-catching architecture.
The art nouveau style castle and majestic 40 metre main tower were built by manor lord Hugo von Stryk in 1907. Otto Wildau was the castle’s architect.
Castle SPA Wagenküll is located in a small village, which makes it a hidden gem. Decor really makes you feel different. Give a visit to the Castle tower, it's free and open 24/7! We booked a Deluxe room from Castle. Really nice small details made us feel very comfortable and think about history of this place. Minibar (small fridge), widescreen TV, toiletteries, bathrob, slippers (not for spa!), tea- and coffee set and much more. Beds were comfortable. Wifi area could be improved. SPA is very nicely decorated and fits there very well. Different saunas, places to relax, Japanese bath etc. Visiting a smoked sauna is a must, it's very unique. There is also a small bar from where you can buy drinks and cocktails. Take your own flip-flops from home or buy from reception! Restaurant - New York steak was dry and not so tasty as it should be. Fish was OK, but not worth the money. Kind of pricy place and food is definetly not worth the money. Service was very friendly and professional. Buffet breakfast was delicious and lot's of different options. Everything I chose, tasted very good. Extra points for the good coffee! Overall experience 5/5 and highly recommended. …
At night there was so much talking from the next room that I couldn't sleep. I contacted the reception with the problem and they went to talk to these people three times, but it was no use. Finally, the police also came, but we didn't stay at the hotel anymore and we left after three in the morning. I have visited many hotels, but I have never had an experience like this before. Very bad
Liked. The food in the restaurant was really good so was the service. The spa was cute and cozy. The suite had a lovely fireplace. Disliked · The room we stayed in - the suite in the main castle - was located next to the restaurant, so the room smelled like food, so were smelling all of our clothes and belongings. The restaurants toilet was located next to our room and it was really uncomfortable to listen people use it as we thought we would have privacy within the suite and a nice quiet vacay. It was also really weird to walk to the spa with our robes on trough the whole restaurant while others were dining and we were all red from the sauna. The bathroom in the suite had see trough curtains. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, so were the sheets and pillows. The bed had 2 small blankets. As well the breakfast did not have any gluten free or lactose free options. The staff of the castle were agreeing with us about the room, but could not even offer a discount after a really disappointing stay. Honestly after this I won't never want to come back.…
I would recommend to visti SPA for couple fo days, Castle in generally gives you good feeling about "living in castle"... Room nicely renovated, clean and spacious. You can visit castle tower. SPA renovated, 6-7 different saunas, pool ouside and inside. I think will be great to visit SPA in the middle of the week- less crowded. Very nice restaurant, x2 dinners - all good.
Perfect getaway place, nice spa and beautiful atmosphere. A bit like Harry Potter school castle vibe.🏰 Staff is friendly and adjusting and improving even more based on given feedback. visiting it second time and will continue visiting regularily. 😍
We went the hotel for weekend, hotell was really nice and also the spa, and restaurant was even better! I still dream about thise shrimps in white wine sauce! I will be back and ofcourse i really reccomend you to go!
Beautiful castle hotel with huge spa complex. I stayed in a suite. The room was big and the bed was so comfortable. The spa has many different saunas and relax areas. Indoor and outdoor pool. I really enjoyed the restaurant meals during dinner and the breakfast had a huge variety to choose from. Every corner of the hotel, spa, restaurant is beautiful and romantic. Hotel also is suurounded by beautiful nature to explore.
We stayed at the panorama suite, it was super nice. Loved the spa. Because we stayed there middle of the week, the spa was really quiet and felt super private. Loved the saunas and outdoor swimming pool. I Recommend getting a spa treatment, massage was so lovely, relaxing. 10 points for the service also. Receptionist was nice and friendly. The kitchen made a super delicious vegan dinner for us. Thank you chef 😊 Defenitly visiting again 😊
We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. We were happy that the spa was not very crowded in the mornings and we could enjoy some privacy there. Breakfast was good (standard hotel buffet). Dinner in Wagenküll restaurant was excellent and totally worth the price! The only downside was that our room smelled a little bit musty (opening the window fixed that) and we could have used an AC because it happened to be a really hot day.
Stayed in Wagenküll in March, when restaurants and spaas was closed because of Covid19. Spacenter was closed, but it is possible to book for yourself private sauna. First day we had a “Merevaigu saun” and the others day “soome saun”. Spacenter looked very nice and clean- definetly will go back when all of it is open. :) Had dinner in our room- food was very-very good! Breakfast was also served into our room and it also was very good! All the people were friendly and the building and surrounding are super cool! we will go back and recommend it for you too :) !
