I stayed here with my daughter for 3 days. We had a lot of fun looking at the animals, the flowers. The first bungalow had a failure with the A/C so they changed us to a different one. The staff was really nice. The food at the restaurant quite good. It’s a great place if you are looking for peace and quiet. We’ll comeback for sure!
It really saddens me to have to write this review, but I believe other customers should know. Chachagua Eco Lodge overcharged me during my trip and I have still not been refunded. My trip was over 3 months ago and during that time I was told by Daniel that he would make sure my refund would happen within 24 hrs. I followed up with him multiple times about it and it was always another excuse (e.g., the bank had a new process, there is additional paperwork, etc.) At one point he flat out told me he's never done a refund. How can you claim that you are a hotel that services international customers and not know how to process a refund?! I had a great time while at the lodge, but the complete disrespect and inexperience that Daniel has exhibited in customer service has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Future customers beware.…
The hotel has a beautiful landscape and is situated deep in the rainforest which is spectacular and has so much to offer with tours at all hours of the day. On arrival I found the receptionist to be fairly unhelpful and didn’t offer for our bags to be taken to our room which was quite far from the reception in the hotel grounds. The breakfast was standard, the dinner was tasty with lots of options and the juices were great. The pool area was well kept - although the pool had been emptied on our last day without any prior warning which wasn’t great. I would recommend taking the free morning walk that the hotel offers as you get to see the wonderful grounds and go under the waterfall! If you want to see the sights of La Fortuna then I’m not sure this hotel is the best place to stay as it wasn’t the easiest getting a taxi and it’s far away from the town. Overall it was a beautiful hotel situated in wonderful grounds but lacked the special ambience it could have had. …
As we checked in, it started to rain, so unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of the property. But, it did look nice. They have a nice onsite restaurant (although a bit pricey), and a relaxing pool area. The Jungle Rooms are large and comfortable. It was about 25 minutes to the Proyecto Asis Wildlife Rescue Center and 25 minutes to La Fortuna.
My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED staying at this property while in Costa Rica. Although it is a bit remote (30 minutes from downtown La Fortuna) it is a beautiful property and area surrounding the lodge. We stayed in a Lodge Room (only part of the hotel without being in a stand-alone bungalow) and these were just fine! Very bare but we didn’t expect 5-star decor at an eco lodge. The real star of this place is the gorgeous property and hiking trails surrounding it. Absolutely beautiful, with waterfalls and animal sightings abound! Tons of tour offerings and the restaurant on property is great. Free breakfast is included and pretty good! The drinks are the bar are TOP NOTCH! So great! High-end service and the bar staff & table staff were amazing!! We had so much fun talking and joking with them all night - love you guys! Thanks for an amazing night (love Selena & Romeo;)) I would HIGHLY recommend a car if you stay here because there aren’t many options of transportation if you want to do your own thing for dinner. But you can book tons of tours through the property and eat here every night - no worries! 10/10 stay - if you’re a no fuss kind of person and are willing to do something different, this is your place! …
