We have had 4 delicious meals at 1863. The staff are extremely welcoming. You walk into an intimate restaurant with a lovely fire. The presentation of the food is excellent and the meals delicious. We can recommend the beef fillet. We have found it a good place for someone in a wheelchair to enjoy an evening out. Thank you 1863.

Recently had a three course mea here with my wife and thought it was brilliant and by far the best place to eat in Pooley Bridge. Lovely little bar area and superb little booths to eat in. The front of house girls were friendly and looked after us very nicely. The menu was quirky which we liked as each dish...

Took my husband here as a birthday gift and we were not disappointed. Large and comfy room with enormous 'rain' shower. (Just like the weather!) Had a warm afternoon by the fire in the bar. A very high standard bistro meal - all delicious - served by really great staff. Full marks for presentation, flavour and service. Thanks for a...

Stayed for a 2 night weekend with 2 other couples. This is a very comfortable boutique hotel. Very nice decorations, lovely bar, excellent food. Breakfasts were very very good and we attended a Sunday lunch celebration of a friends birthday where the food was fab. Can't fault the place, only 5 mins off the motorway and a 2 mins walk...

Stayed Christmas time and had a wonderful stay. Very lovely hosts who were very helpful, pleasant clean a newly decorated room allbeit small, with lovely outlook of the enchanting but quiet High Street. Fine ale available at the in-house bar which was fantastic and unusual for such a quaint bistro. We didn't eat there but the food looked amazing and...

This beautiful hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in and cannot be faulted, the service from all people involved was truly excellent with nothing too much trouble. The room we stayed in was boutique style, very clean, comfortable and stylishly decorated, the rest of the hotel was of a similar high standard and you can see...
