We agree with a lot of the previous reviews, we just popped in for a snack lunch on the way to Kingston Lacy and did not stay here. On a Tuesday lunchtime the pub was almost empty and we were served quickly. Our food was served in 5 minutes, my macn'cheese was very hot but dry with not much cheese...

Didn't stay but had an evening meal here. On reflection we were glad we weren't staying!! Upon arrival the barmaid continued talking to two regulars at the bar without even acknowledging us. When eventually served the food turned up in around five minutes. It was clear to see why. Piping hot but dry and crusty, clearly pre prepared and microwaved...

Used the restaurant a few times now, booked in advance as we knew it would be busy and we are glad we did. Our table was ready for us at a reserved setting, so far do good as it was very lively with people. Staff were very quick to get us seated as there were only 2 on the front...

Stayed here for 2 nights over Easter weekend. ..absolutely fab...room was great, food lovely. Great atmosphere 👍. We had a room at the front but weren't bothered by the traffic at all. Would stay here again.

We visited The Red lion today, I have passed it several times whilst traveling home. The pub looks like it is being done up. We ordered our food, and although it was very busy, the food was brought out quite quickly. I enjoyed my plowman, The other meals looked well presented. No complaints from us.

While the service was good, and the general atmosphere inside the pub was pleasant, I was disappointed by the overall standard of the food. I ordered lamb shank from the specials board, and was dismayed to find quite a lot of bone and fat, but precious little lean meat. By way of comparison I had ordered a lamb shank at...

My wife and I stayed on Saturday and found the experience most enjoyable. We were made most welcome, the room was clean and comfortable, the food menu was varied, and our meals were of a first class standard. My only complaint was I didn't have room for a pudding!! Next morning the breakfast was also first class. All in all...

Stayed at the Red Lion for one night as we planned a walk at Lulworth. Check in was easy with the owner showing us to our room & checking we were happy with it. Dinner was great, lots of choice & huge meals. Pub was quiet as out of season which was nice. Room was good, clean with a really...
