We stayed at Mother of Ducks for a long weekend and loved it - such a relaxing spot. There was plenty of room in the house to spread out, lovely verandahs and a great view over the lake. The house has been furnished in a style that looks terrific and fits in with the country feel of the place. There...

Thanks so much ricardofusball - loved to know that you had such a good time in Mother of Ducks and obviously also enjoyed exploring the magic of Cloudlake. Sorry you found the bed a bit firm - yours at home must be very soft and we usually get really positive responses on how comfy the bed is - perhaps a...

My partner and I stayed in The Boathouse for a few nights. We found The Boathouse to be very clean and with a well equipped kitchen. We were visited by Dudley the staffy and also some of the retreat's house ducks. This is definitely the place to get away from it all as there is no mobile phone signal, no...

Thanks kohkoh for your review - We love hearing that staying at Cloudlake delivers in giving you 'the get away from it all experience". Thanks also for the constructive criticism about a roof over the deck - Richard and I have been looking at the deck this week and we are thinking of a waterproof sail-like structure over half of...

My partner and I stayed in the Mother of Ducks for his birthday and totally fell in love with its tranquility and historical charm. We had the duck family and adorable Dudley visited us twice a day and were absolutely soothed by their accompany :) Every morning we woke up to the sunrise and the clouds floating above the lake....

It truly gives us great pleasure and indeed a thrill to know that you had a wonderful time in Mother of Ducks Cottage - she certainly has a knack of making guests feel immediately relaxed - perhaps it is the 110 years of good vibes of all the folk who have lived in her. Anyway, thanks so much for coming...

My husband and I came away to Cloudlake for some together time. The setting lent itself to a spot of cool weather, holed up in this very sweet cottage (Boathouse) we cooked up a treat, sat by the fire, sipped wine, watched the lake and walked the tracks. Love it! A thoughtful, peaceful and enchanting place.

Thanks so much 'Yummy Stay" for taking the time to let us know that Cloudlake was just perfect for your time away together. It is good to leave technology behind for just a little while and really connect again to each other. Hope we will see you again someday but stay chilled out in the meantime.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the boathouse for our 6th Anniversary. It was a perfect relaxing getaway from our busy lives. The open plan house looking out over the dam was very tranquil, the kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment we needed to cook up a feast and the surrounding property was beautiful. We would be back...

Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us how much you enjoyed your time at Cloudlake. Especially happy to know that you could find everything you needed in the kitchen to 'cook up a feast' We have deliberately included all kinds of kitchen gear as well as the gas cooktop with wok burner and fan forced oven plus...

My fiancé and I stayed in the Boathouse for our 3 year anniversary and as soon as we got there, we could feel our stress melting away. We loved everything about it and neither of us wanted to leave. Dudley visited us a couple of times, so did the ducks. We even nicknamed one of them 'The David Beckham Duck'...

My husband & I, as well as my mother, thoroughly enjoyed our time at 'Mother of Ducks' at Cloudlake! So peaceful & relaxing! Lovely country accommodation, with front and side veranda to enjoy! Loved feeding the ducks, canoeing on the lake, hearing and seeing the various birds! One of the many king parrots came within a metre of us! A...

We stayed in 'The Boathouse', a purpose-built modern building with a steeply pitched roof and open-plan layout. This is ideal for a couple but might be a bit cosy for more as the spare bed is perched on an open mezzanine above the kitchen and there's little privacy available. The interior has been decorated with boating and fishing knick-knacks and...

My partner and i recently stayed at Cloudlake for a weekend away. It was truly amazing. At night the only sounds are the frogs by the lake and by day it is all kinds of birds, no traffic, phones or dogs that you hear living in town! My wife and I have stayed at Cloudlake once a year for the past 4 years or so. It is worth the drive from Sydney to spend time at this delightful rural retreat. There are two cottages for rent, each with a quite different character—the modern "Boathouse" and the retro "Mother of Ducks". Both provided delightful and well-equiped accommodation. Both...
