I have been there in the year 2009 and in that time it was really one of the best hostels in the world! Now we stayed there in August 2015 and it lost all his charm. No kitchen for cooking, only a quite expensive restaurant. Reserving is not possible so if you are unlucky you have to change the place....

Since this place gets such great reviews, I expected a bit more. After an hour and a half shuttle ride and a ten-minute trek uphill to a "farm" in the mountains, nowhere near a beach, we were underwhelmed, not to mention saturated in sweat. For $18/night for a double bed, we got no fan or airflow of any kind in...

This hostal is kind of the most well known and visited in the island and sincerely I don't know why, maybe when it opened , it was way cooler. For me it is a commercialized, fake hippy hostal. It is dirty, the bathrooms are nightmare, for a girl it is a real nightmare every time you have to go to...

SORRY, DO NOT GET ANGRY, BUT WE LIKE TO ANSWER WITH HUMOR.... I always remember a nice moovie called Trainspotting : the tolilet you describe looks like the one that the main actor use when he gets some drugs....Was a very very dirty Scottland toilet ( with water , not compost toilet like ours ) where on the door was...

I really enjoyed camping here, on the side of volcano Madera. This was a great place for me to relax. I really enjoyed pizza nights! The restaurant didn't have the best customer service. A lot of the products are supposedly grown and/or produced on the property...I questioned this...but all in all the food was satisfying (I loved the ginger tea)...

Guys this is really a "different place"!....the farm is so nice, located in one of the most beautiful part of Ometepe, surrounded by a lush vegetation and colorful birds...The owners, two italian brothers living there since long time, run the place following the permaculture principles, which means that you are really "into" the jungle!!...A special mention for the food: most...

We came out to Ometepe planning to stay a week, and ended up staying a month at El Zopilote. Hidden on the hillside of the Maderas Volcano, this place has it all; cheap hammocks, dorms, and private cabins all nestled in verdant jungle. Regardless of what you're looking to do on the island Zopilote is a great home base- they...

We had fun staying at this camp, the food was delish and the rooms were unique. The management wasn't super helpful, however the atmosphere and views/location were incredible! Wear sturdy comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking involved. Definitely recommended!

We stayed for 11 days when we were only planning to stay a few. Really enjoyed sleeping in the hammocks, plus there were no bugs! Great coffee at the bus shop. Appreciated the tour of the farm where one owner tells you about their sustainable initiatives. Free yoga twice a day was exceptional. Great people! Farm grown food and products....

Zopilote was just what we were looking for. Nothing really came up as an obvious place to stay while researching but then we decided to try this out. It's an all-in-one organic finca with great vibes and lovely people. If you're a couple make sure to stay in one of the personal cabañas which are great, we were in Murcielago...

The place was nice and well located. I came here beacause all the great recommendation I got from friends to come here, but they came here when this place (built by volunteers) was in other hands. The shame is that not they have changed many things and for instance no longer have anything to let you have your own food,...

I don't understand how is possible this site let a person write so many and so big lies. Or maybe you have been in some other place. This place has never changed management. Me and my family own this place from the start. Was 2002 when we bought the land that was a rice field. So we did everything here....
