The location works if you have a car or can tolerate a wait for the island's bus service. The States Inn is not your regular B & B experience, but it does entertain. Rescue horses, chickens on the premises, daily dog "camps", resident alpacas, a florishing veggie garden....All sorts of stuff going on here. Stayed in the California room and...

My sister and I recently stayed two nights at the States Inn and Ranch before going on a three day kayaking trip. The only reason I'm writing to to save others the disappointment that we experienced. I know that usually when there only one person complaining about a place that they are usually a crank but I hope you read...

This is truly a country farm area. The house is welcoming and certainly the staff is warm and eager to help make your stay comfortable. We were planning on eating at their breakfast time but we woke up early and found that we could have a wonderful breakfast of homemade scones, muffins, oatmeal, granola and juice and unlimited coffee at the...

Just returned from San Juan and can't wait to go back. Jessica and the gang offer a fantastic deal if you don't mind animals and don't miss tv when you are on vacation. It is not walking distance to Friday Harbor but if you have a car, this is a great B and B. Say hello to the goats, horses,...

Extremely friendly hostess with a rustic ranch full of farm animals to feed & make friends with. Quaint rooms with individual decor and a homely touch for those wishing to relax at San Juan Island after some kayaking and/or whale watching. Home made cookies available for guests! :)

This B&B features "down home" atmosphere on a working farm located in the heart of beautiful San Juan Island, Some of the rooms are a bit on the small side, and so are the en-suite bathrooms, but they have plenty of light and are kept very clean. The beds are extremely comfortable. The hosts here treat guests like family, offering...

We were only spending one night on the island, and spend a while looking for a reasonably placed inn. The States Inn and Ranch was, compared to the other lodging options, an enormous bargain. It does require a car to get to. We arrived and the host was extremely friendly. There are a couple nice public rooms in the middle...

I stayed with a friend for one night at the States Inn & Ranch and appreciated our small, but clean, room on the second floor and my comfortable bed. The huge breakfast was tasty and filling. I found it fun to interact with the resident alpacas at the ranch and liked having access to a free computer on the main...

We appreciate your feedback. And we agree! Unfortunately we lease the physical property, and the room layout is out of our control. We have had this conversation with the landlord (and showed him reviews like this) many times. The building is over 100 years old, was last remodeled 20 years ago. There is little that can be done without major...

This B &B is outside of town of Friday Harbor so car is recommended, though a bus into town is available . Wonderful full breakfasts each morning. Very family friendly- kids of all ages can feed the llamas, collect fresh eggs from the chickens on this working farm.Rooms are fine, though noise of farm equipment in the afternoon might disturb...

My husband and I stayed at States Inn for 2 days. One more day would have been better. It is a delightful Inn. Delicious breakfasts, friendly people. Rooms are not large but there are very nice common areas. There was a fireplace in our room, tho it probably was not functioning - Comfy bed. We were in the Rhode Island...
