Super convenient hotel when arriving late or leaving early from Girona airport. We arrived late and walked to the hotel in a few minutes. The car rental companies are across the street from the hotel so we had booked to pick up a car there the following morning. When no one showed up at the car rental company at the arranged time, the woman in hotel reception was very helpful in trying to track down someone to help us. The room was perfectly adequate for our stay, not super fancy but very clean and comfortable. The wifi worked very well. Breakfast was not included in the price but we ate in the hotel restaurant for a reasonable price and it was fine. We would definitely stay here again if we fly in to Girona airport.
We have used this hotel before. It is only a few minutes walk from Girona Airport. The room we had was clean and quiet. There are many free toiletries supplied in the bathroom which is handy. The beds were comfy and towels soft, if you ask at reception they will provide plugs for the bath and basin. I did have a nasty surprise when taking a blanket from the wardrobe as it had large white stains on it which stopped me using it! The reception staff are friendly and helpful. We popped into Girona for a couple of hours on the bus but had to return on the 7 p.m. one as that was the last one on a public holiday. Taxis cost 30 euros apparently to or from Girona to the hotel. We decided to opt for the evening buffet. Mistake. I could not recommend the food at all. It costs 15 euros, which includes a drink. I think that a lot of the dishes have sat there since lunchtime. It was not appetising at all and the dining room is very brightly lit and functional, like a school canteen. We had croissants and coffee for breakfast, which were very nice. Overall, a handy hotel for the airport but avoid the evening buffet!…
This hotel is ideally suited to travellers catching an early flight or arriving in late, just 5 mins walk from airport. Staff friendly and helpful. Didn't sample any food but a self service facility seemed to be available at any time
The only hotel so close to the airport of Girona (2 minutes walk). If you have an early flight or arrive late to Barcelona from Girona Airport, this is the best choice ever. Moreover, the price is low an the hotel is well structured. There is no breakfast buffet, there are some options to choose from continental and English breakfast (price range 6-7€). There is a little bar for a drink or coffee. If you want to see your TV in the room remember to ask for the TV remote, which you have to give back when checking out. Reception speaks also English.
We would not have picked this hotel if we had read this review. My family met up at this hotel in early August as we were arriving in Girona airport late one evening and travelling into a coastal resort the next morning for a 10 day stay in this beautiful part of Spain. The hotel is very basic but appeared clean and fine for this convenient one night stay. We ate a small meal of paella on the out door terrace before retiring for the night. All seemed fine and we woke early the next morning ( we had my 14mth old granddaughter with us) and were eating breakfast by 8 local time. The restaurant is small and family run. We felt comfortable and safe in this environment. To cut a very long and painful story short my daughter had her backpack stolen from right in front of our noses. Two rather unkempt guys came in from the street and chose their moment by distracting my daughter and myself when we were entertaining my grandchild! There were security cameras all over the place which should have alerted us to a problem. When speaking to the police who attended the incident this is a typical and frequent problem in Spain. ‘They take things from right in front of you and other witnesses’ quote the policewoman. The hotel owner was apologetic and helpful but we question their vigilance when anybody can walk in from the street. There seems little point in having security cameras unless somebody is monitoring them frequently. The other thing that confused us after the incident was that, despite having photographic evidence of the theft including a get away car number plate which led the police to a hire car in Madrid, the police said it would be difficult to catch these thieves as Catalunya didn’t share intel with the rest of Spain. We are sorry to have to review in this way but after lots of conversations amongst my family we decided that we need to warm any other potential victims. Apparently this problem is rife in Spain. When my husband and my daughter spent the day travelling to Barcelona to collect an emergency passport a few days after the theft they were two of many tourists with similar stories at the consulate. Airport thieves creating havoc for innocent holiday makers in Spain. …
