It is located in an historical building. It was really cold outside, but the heating was perfect. The room is simple but has eveything you need, including a quality wifi connection. The staff is more than friendly, they want you to feel at home and do give all the help they can. The breakfast was good in quantity and quality.
As others have said never judge a book by its cover. From the outside this place does not inspire confidence but the moment you enter all that changes. The building has been wonderfully renovated and our suite was perfect. Like others we were disappointed not to be able to have a meal in the attractive restaurant and the recommended village bar only a provided basic meal. Breakfast was pleasant but we would have much appreciated some fruit.
I love exceptional places, and El Salero is one of them. If the fashionable "boutique hotel" label fits anywhere, it is here - meticulously restored old country house (look at the attached photo of El Salero’s stylish power switches), with all the charm of an old country house kept in the tastefully designed rooms, few enough so that you get the personal attention, not to talk about the excellent breakfast based on local produce. Many thanks to the El Salero family, and also thanks to Tripadvisor and Internet, which allows us to find places such as this.
This is a very nice refurbished three century old building with an interesting history. Room was spotless, comfortable and completely modern. Breakfast was very nice as well. Family run by very helpful people, highly recommended.
This hotel is small & family run, & the daughter speaks very good English. On the night we stayed we were the only guests in & we were made to feel so welcome & part of the family. Unfortunately as our stay was mid week we were unable to have an evening meal, as they only serve meals at lunch time & weekends, but we did get food from a local bar in the village, however breakfast was amazing, hot bread, ham, fruit, tomatoes, cakes, jam & the most wonderful honey This hotel took 2 years to renovate, & has only been open 2 years. The room we were in had been kept in character but had a very modern bathroom & was beautifully clean. As we opened the wardrobe door there was a lovely smell of lavender. The walls & doors of the building are so thick which makes it very cool & quiet. The village itself is quaint with a beautiful castle & church. I am finding it very difficult to write this review as words do not describe the experience, you must stay there, its perfect…
