Went for lunch and it was very good quality not that cheap but it shows in the food. Good choice in menu and was served fast. Soft drinks were not a rip off unlike other pubs/ restaurants like this. We will be back.

stopped for lunch as half way to The Broads for us and very disappointed by the food in such a beautiful building. Finished up going for the Club sandwiches which were nice but ridiculously expensive. Staff serving (chap behind the bar) was very good and did well as left on his own to cover food and drinks but would not...

Thank you for popping by - we are a popular half way house on the way to Norfolk, being only a minute off the M11/A11. I am sorry you were not tempted by any of our classic pub menu, a la carte or specials board dishes, there is normally something for everyone. Was the Club sandwich you refer to the...

I chose this hotel on the way back to London from the races at Newmarket. The Red Lion possesses many awards for food and has a high AA rating. The rooms in the accommodation block are finished to a lovely standard, however they are a little too stark with no pictures on the wall or any products other than soap...

Sometimes you just have to hold up your hands - we were left high and dry this Saturday at no notice with too few and too new staff. Given the circumstances they actually did a great job, but inevitably not to our usual standards, for which I must apologise and hope you appreciated our gesture of not charging you for...

I stayed here probably more than 10times and come to eat dinner due to business trips to Hinxton 2/3 times a week since January. And the food is really good. I was really surprised last Thursday hearing I would not be served as they were having some organised party. Nothing proposed, actually I could drink a beer if I wanted.....

The restaurant food and pub were very nice. However the cost of B&B is way overpriced, apart from hand and body wash, that's it for the toiletries? No bottled water, which is something I was very surprised at. Although the breakfast was nice, no yoghurt or fruit provided, only for pre-order. No information about that until you see the breakfast...

We booked for Sunday lunch celebrating my own birthday. This was the first time I had visited The Red Lion but was hosted by my son and family who had previously eaten there. Tiny village to find and we feared that with so many cars parked along the road we had no chance of parking; but there was plenty of...

We stayed for one Saturday night. We arrived around 6pm and our room was warm, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the pub. The food was excellent, very tasty, large portion sizes and served by friendly and helpful staff. My husband had 3 courses and I had 2.We had a bottle of Chablis and the bill was £95 which...

We had an excellent evening/night here. The food was delicious, originally we chose off the menu but then chose off the specials board, the food was perfectly cooked. The Staff were all smiley and really helpful. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and clean. Breakfast was wonderful too, I think I had the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. All in...

Such a shame, I rarely recommend any restaurant. I recommended the Red Lion ans then went back again. Main menu excellent, Sunday very good. The ginger cake really apppealed to three out of seven of us. It arrived as a thin tasteless tray bake, nothing like the description on the menu. When asked whether we were happy there was a...

I was looking forward to this place, having heard it was a gastro pub type restaurant. Really under whelmed, food was verging on terrible, my meal was very burnt, others left theirs, no one had any compliments for the food. Wasn't worth complaining as they clearly wouldn't have cared. Not once did any staff ask if we wanted drinks, had...
