Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent staff and gorgeous food. One young woman Megan, absolute 10/10 never seen such a dinger, served me breakfast lunch and dinner seemed to work all day long, say the pay isn’t great. Didn’t need instruction, man with grey hair seemed to be only management, sat around drinking coffee all day. Hotel is run by this lady.

Brilliant food but below average service. We went for dinner and could not believe how bad the service was. Staff were all young and seemingly had little training. There seemed to be no manager around. The hotel needs to train it's staff and quickly. Some were ok but a couple were surly. One male waiter was even flicking a female waiter with a large napkin when she walked past... in the middle of the restaurant in front of all the diners... Faulty Towers like behaviour. Shame as the menu was excellent and the food was delicious. Management need to act fast and train their dining wait staff and instill some order.

Food was good but the waitress service was so bad. Plenty on duty but poorly managed. Seemed more interested in wrapping knives and forkes in knapkins. This Hotel also deleates any negative comments from their fb page so the problem here must come from the top. Great pity.

We stayed here recently as we were going to a wedding “nearby” and I had contacted staff to ensure same and organise taxi. We waited 15 mins for someone to even come to the desk, taxi over 30 mins which actually made us miss the start. Room was not ready at 2pm fair enough but was dirty and very dated when we did get in at midnight. Bathroom math yellow with over use! Unfortunately would never stay here again and I normally don’t even write reviews. Overpriced for what it is was.

We’ve been to this property multiple times and each time is better than the last! The staff, food and views are all incredible. We stayed in room 103 and it was spotless and had the most stunning view of the Galtee mountain range, would highly recommend requesting a front facing room. The lady at reception was just lovely! So kind and well informed about the area, I think her name could have been Alex, huge asset to the team. The hotel is a great base for many walking trails with maps sold at reception, our favourite being the looped trail that starts at the hotels car park. We dined at the hotel bar both evenings and were not disappointed, we were served by a kind gentleman who I’d assume is the manager, didn’t quite catch his name. It’s safe to say we will most definitely be back 👍

Me and my family went here recently for lunch and it was lovely. I got the beef as a main and the lemon posset for dessert. The beef was lovely and a very big portion almost too big lol. The lemon posset was beautiful. Staff could of been a little but more attentive though.

The hotel offers wonderful views of the Galtee Mountains from the restaurant, terrasse, and the front bedrooms. The back bedrooms open on the forest which should be nice as well. The food was excellent and offers possibilities for vegetarians and gluten intolerants as well. The people were very good from the front desk to the restaurant and beyond. The only negative point is that there is no lift so people with disability could have difficulties going to the bedrooms especially those on the 2nd floor. The surroundings are lovely and the walks through the forest offer endless possibilities.

Dined here Friday night with my pal. Had the most delicious dinner (piping hot) in a gorgeous setting. Despite a very busy wedding going on, we were served by super attentive, lovely staff. Really worth a visit but always check if the wedding is upstairs or down as this will affect your experience. Oh, it was well priced too! ❤️❤️❤️
