I stopped for a late lunch. It has a courtyard for car parking just off the main road from Addis Ababa into the town. One can eat in the open quite comfortably but I was ushered inside to the cool. My best memory of the place was the hand washing at table. A stove kettle-like pot standing in a bowl...

This is the best choice for hotel in the area. The rooms are clean, the service is friendly and breakfast spread is a decent mix. If you are leaving early be sure to request that breakfast be served before 7AM.

I've stayed at the Rediet three times over the course of the last year and, well, it's pretty much your only choice in the area. The manager is a nice guy with awesome shoes, the staff range from friendly and helpful to creepy and inept. One of the bartenders tends to follow me around when I'm there which is unsettling....

This hotel seemed nice and clean however, we only had a coffee here outside. Nice cast iron tables and chairs and very good coffee as you would expect in Ethiopia. The loos were clean, had loo seat, water, paper and hand washing basin with soap. Convenient stopping place on our way south.

Had lunch there. Lots to chose from as the menu was varied. Ample portions. Clean enviornment. Prompt and friendly service. Pleasant interior. I am not a foodie, but I had no complaints and would eat there again.

The rooms were basic however clean. The showers were hot which is a plus. Our meals were acceptable as you must realize that you are not in Paris or London. The staff were very good and friendly. The breakfast was good with fresh mango juice ,scrambled eggs and local food available. The staff were trained in English which was a...

What a nice treat with blazing wifi! Clean room, kind staff, and good dinner. Thanks for the brief stop! Rooms are a bit small and the bedcovers could be nicer, but all in all a good stop on your way back to Addis. We came in late and they got us set up real fast.

This hotel is the best one in Butajira. The property is clean and well kept. Its a little weird that there is a gas station when you walk out the front door but the back is pretty. We had a bonfire there one night and it was nice. The cottage in the back was the best meal i had in...

This hotel is the only game in town. Good food, hot water (at night only), excellent bar and friendly staff. Nothing's perfect, however. I had small roaches in my room, wifi went out at the end of the week for 2 days, and breakfast takes a loooong time. Eggs are a faster order than coffee. Compared to the surrounding living...

“Ask for a room on a lower floor facing the back courtyard and make sure to check for bed bugs. If you see one, ask for a new room right away and don't take no for an answer. You can usually get the WiFi to work if you can get them to let you reset the modem.”

“We had a room on the garden side, very quiet, make sure to ask for this. There was some misunderstanding over the exchange rate between Ethiopian Birs and Euros and Dollars. Make sure to have an accurate exchange rate on your smartphone to get the best deal. The staff are not out to rip you off but hey, if you can save some money you will probably spend it elsewhere right?”

“Choose rooms at the back because the front faces onto the main road and the gas station.”

“Gardern side can be noisy if there is a party-the front has noise from the gas station is front. Your call. I took the front and slept just fine.”
