Overall great value, with very friendly helpful staff. We stayed the first time as it was far cheaper than a well known chain, AND we got Breakfast AND there was the option of dinner. Nothing disappointed, and there was the bonus of a nice walk nearby. We tried to go again, only to find them fully booked. We had better...

We traveled with a group of wheelchair users and had a great meal at the red lion. We were made welcome and chairs etc were moved to accommodate our group. The staff were all helpful. The sizzling dishes are wonderful and good value.

Read the old 1-star reviews from 2012 - nothing has changed! Everything, literally everything, is very, very worn and shabby in the extreme. Bed linen threadbare. Towels very thin. Everything, just everything is beige or brown. Lighting completely inadequate. NOISE! I could hear anything and everything from every other room. Carpet in bathroom was grotty! In fact carpet throughout the...

Staff are lovely and very helpful, especially lady that booked us in, food was lovely but this leads me to first bad point, we booked a dog friendly room but our dog wasn't allowed in the bar, this being an issue for us, so we rushed...

My fella and I love this pub, we've been a few times! Good pub food in large quantities! My tikka sizzler was fantastic. But, the Red Lion is famous for its Mixed Grills, on its huge plates, my fella got the same amount of meat all piled on to a small plate which was very difficult to eat. The girls...
