I recommend the "preferred" rooms. These rooms have the best view of all of them. We saw bear and deer from the balcony every day and the balcony sunset view is excellent. We had an upstairs room with ceiling fan and a/c.

Sorry for the late response. The hotel rooms or non-main lodge mostly face the woods. Still pretty though. If you want a valley view, you should stay in the mail lodge. I love those old rooms anyway. Do not expect modern amenities. The rooms are about in the original condition when the place was built. No A/C, small showers or tub, rustic, but I love it. Hope this helps.
