Silver City Resort is a small boutique resort nestled deep in Sequoia National Park just minutes away from the breathtaking high altitude Mineral King Valley. What makes this destination so unique is that it shares its history with two of the oldest alpine settlements in the western United States. Within the Sierra Nevada mountain range of California, Silver City Resort and the neighboring seasonal communities of Silver City and Mineral King, contain more chapters of shared human history than any other community in the High Sierras for over 130 years. Silver City Resort offers a truly unique mountain experience. Located 21 miles up Mineral King Road Silver City offers lodging away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourism. Silver City offers guests an authentic mountain experience perfect for families, avid hikers, adventure seekers, and people who love nature. We provide private cabins each with a fully stocked kitchen, including pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, baking bowls, cutlery, silverware, etc… We have beautiful spacious chalets with open beam ceilings, bathrooms and showers. If luxury is not your cup of tea we also have smaller family cabins and last but not least our rugged historic cabins. Whether you are an adventurer looking for lodging in Sequoia, or a family looking for a great getaway Silver City Mountain Resort offers lodging during the summer months in Sequoia National Park. Opening up Memorial Day weekend in May and closing in mid to late October depending on snow fall. Silver City also includes a small store and restaurant. We stayed in The Shooting Star cabin which was well equipped and The Forest Glen which they call “rustic” but you might as well get a tent. Overall it was a nice woodsy and out of the way experience but I found it to be very expensive. The food in the little restaurant was surprisingly good, I would highly recommend the pie. The drive to the inn is torturously long and windy. I’m glad we stayed here but not sure I would do it again

Started our ten day cross country trip out of LA with a first stop in Sequoia. Initially, I was disappointed that I couldn't get a room in one of the park's lodges but after reading the reviews decided on Silver City Mountain Resort (SCMR). When we finished our fantastic trip and settled back home, we all agreed our favorite memory was from our day and a half at SCMR. Food was surprisingly excellent, our cabin was comfortable, showers were hot and the hikes our wonderful check-in attendant Sarah suggested were some of the best I've ever been on anywhere. Seeing acres of wildflower, pristine mountain lakes and abandoned sliver mines at 9,000 feet, and seeing no more than four other people, some marmots and deer along the way, made this a very special stop. Thanks to everyone at SCMR and my hope is this review doesn't send too many people to your beautiful little secret. If you can't appreciate what they have there then please don't go. To make you earn it there is a bit of a drive. Just concentrate for 25 miles or so and try to do it in the daytime.

My wife and I last visited Silver City 10 years ago. The new owners spent some money upgrading the bathrooms and shower facilities. Our historic cabin was as expected: rustic. It took a few minutes to figure out the operation of the gas lamps.

If you're planning a trip to Sequoia National Park, this is the place to stay. Unless you're a hard-core-roughing-it-is-best kind of person, this lovely little gem provides just the right amount of rustic and comfort. Each of the cabins has its own deck with Adirondack chairs if you would like a place to sit and enjoy your surroundings. A fire pit is also provided for evening chats around the campfire or making s'mores. The restaurant is not fancy, but the food (mostly sandwiches and salads) is fresh and delicious. And every meal (even breakfast) is not complete without a slice of their homemade pie. The best feature of this resort is its proximity to some of the most jaw-dropping scenery in the United States. Multicolored wildflowers were abundant; waterfalls cut through lush mountainsides, giant redwood trees brushed the vibrantly blue sky. Trailheads leading to hiking routes for beginners through experts sprouted from multiple locations near the resort. The temperatures remained relatively cool compared to lower elevations. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable break!

We stayed in 2 different cabins throughout our 3 night stay and had a blast. We were blown away by the kind and accommodating staff, the adorable and comfortable cabins, the majestic beauty and serenity of the setting and the pie at the restaurant! Highly recommended. Be prepared to be a little nauseous on the 45 minute drive on the windy road to the cabins, but totally worth it!
