Most of these recent reviews are probably referring to Dosewallips State Park Campground, since the Olympic National Park Dosewallips campground road washed in 2002 and as of 2016 is still out. There is no vehicle access, so any review here referencing car camping, RVs or cabins either predates the wash out or is misplaced. The campground is only accessible by... More

SEEK out a site on the other side of 101, (think sites numbers 90 through 100...I checked them out, MUCH more like "camping") on the river or you'll hear 101 the WHOLE time. We were at 71, our home in Seattle has less traffic noise - so disappointing to drive out there to feel we were in the city. Choose... More

We went on our 3rd annual family camping trip, it was the only weekend it rained and a very stormy one. Even though it was very wet most of the time it was a great trip! We fished, played games and a herd of about 30 elk woke us at 6 in the morning by coming right through our campsite, it... More

Dosewalips is a great campground and has sites to accommodate all sorts of camping styles. Do your research before booking. If you want shade, make sure the site has shade.... the state park systems is easy to navigate. Want a river view... they have it. Want privacy.. there are some with it. Want to share a space with another family,... More

Honestly it's really hard to take 3 kids camping especially when 2 of my 3 son's are under the age of 3. However this campground is well suited for children. My eldest chose to stay in a tent with my husband and I stayed in the RV with the little ones. The whole campground basically goes silent at 10pm. Which... More

We stayed in a cabin (C-76) and it was quite comfortable. There is a large front living area and a separate room with its own thermostat controls. The separate room has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and a single on the top. A large counter area in the back of the living area of the cabin... More

The only reason I didn't rate this as "excellent" is from a privacy standpoint; it could be much better. Our family usually prefers a very wooded site that provides privacy (like Scenic Beach State Park in Seabeck, WA). However, we LOVE this campground. The pros far outweigh the cons for us. We're a family of 5 with kids ages ranging... More

This campground is an utter joke. I would sooner set up my tent in the middle of a football tailgate party. We reserved site #31, having never been there before. We arrived to a large, open park with almost no tree cover or foliage. There was a disproportionately high number of RVs and tent-trailers (a sure signal of low-quality camping),... More

We were looking for a place to stay the night and pulled into this part despite the "full" sign hoping that they would have an overflow area. They had a site for our camper but frankly I wish we had kept driving. The park was very crowded, each site near us had 3-4 tents/campers in it, only 2 bathrooms in... More
