The cabins are rustic but fun. There is a lot to do on the big island and this is the perfect place to stay to cover the southern part and over to Hilo. There is a cafeteria, a well stocked store and class VI as...More
We had a great stay here. we had a small problem with our room that was quickly fixed by the staff--and they were responsive and wonderful. The accommodations are great and you cant beat the location. we will definitely be back, and bring our family!

KVMC is on southwest corner of island and Hilo airport is pretty close (30-45mins). There were a lot of attractions on other side of the island near Kona but the drive to Kona from KVMC was pretty far, I believe 3 hours. So when we stayed 4 days, we did not sightsee on Kona side. However, we had an 8 month old with us and that stopped us from driving. If we didn’t have a kid I would have made the drive to the other side of the island.
