This is a small campsite just within the National Park ( although you need to leave the main Park and rejoin from the Blue Ridge Parkway to get to it). Lovely pitches, plenty of space between pitches, lovely sunset views and hearing the elk rutting...More

Each year I stay at Balsam Mountain for a few nights and as always the beauty and cooler temps do not disappoint. However, the campground had quite a crowd being that it was a holiday weekend. We stayed Sunday and Monday nights and really enjoyed...More

I loved the remote location & the cool air due to being over 5,000 ft. However, as the other reviewers mentioned, the campground is small. The camp sites are right next to one another and the camp road. If you want privacy, this is not...More

We went camping during the recent heat wave (mid-late July) and it was such a relief to be up in the mountains. We had left 90+ degree weather, and it was 68 when we got up there in the afternoon. The campground was maybe half-full....More

I would bring baby wipes to use at night before bedtime or in morning and then once or twice we boiled a bucket of hot water and did a sponge bath. I would wash my hair in bathroom over sink. It was cold. It totally doable

No showers in the park. You can go outside of the park and rent showers.
