This was a reasonably rpiced room with a great loaction. We went in Fenruary (off season) and it still was challenging to find a place to park when coming back late at night. Rooms are slightly above average and spacious. View on the cnayon side is nice.

When we decided to visit Grand Canyon and were looking for the accommodation inside Grand Canyon Village. This is the last room available in the whole village thru Xanterra Reservation. So pls plan early! We drove from Vegas to Grand Canyon, so by the time we arrived it was in the late afternoon. We were lucky to find a parking...

I decided to stay in the park instead of driving back and forth to Williams or Flagstaff. It is a bit expensive, but it is worth the time you get to spend in the beautiful national park. I think it is best to order the least expensive room in the lodge/hotel. You don't really get a good view of the...

An OK second choice. We were told 9 months ago that El Tovar would be under construction (IT WASN'T) so we settled for this one next door. Was a 60s type 2 floor hotel. Pro: next to the rim with a pretty good view from rooms on one side. Con: no amenities- have to walk to get a meal, and...

This lodge is adjacent to the El Tovar Hotel, and offers more of a typical motel type of accommodation - 2 queen beds, TV, in room coffee and tea, private bath, mini-fridge. The building gives the impression of an older style of architecture, mid 60's or early 70's, but the rooms appear to have been updated recently as they are...

Let's face it, we all go to the Canyon for the views. This lodge and the Thunderbird Lodge provide rooms directly on the rim. They are no frills rooms. Think Motel 6. Clean, hot water, a fridge, coffee maker and TV. Location, location, location. For those getting up early to see the sunrise (and you should absolutely do this) you...

This room had a nice view. We could look out of our window and see the canyon. Word of caution-do not leave any food or empty boxes that had food in it in your room. We actually had a little critter visit us in the middle of the night.

What standards does an operator have to meet to be able to hold on to a concession like this one, at what is certainly one of the most special spots on earth? This hotel and the Thunderbird, which is next door, were built in the late 60’s. There is no doubt that these hotels have been through several refurbs or...

I've stayed at numerous national park lodges. I think it should be a little more descriptive in what you get. The location was perfect in the GC village. There seems to be two lodges that have no ammenities, this along with the Thunderbird Lodge is more like a motel setting. The resterraunts were a short walk to buildings on either...

Listen, if you want to stay in the park, you are going to pay a premium, and I knew that, but the accommodations are very simple. We chose the Kachina Lodge due to it's proximity to the El Tovar hotel and the South Rim Trail. We could literally walk out of the door of the lodge and be on the...
