We spent two nights at the hotel. It lives up to all expectations. Nice to sit in the lobby and have a glass of wine or beer. Only recommendation I can make is book dinner reservations at the hotel same time you book your room. We couldn't get into the dining room at all.

We stayed here for one night to experience the Grand Canyon. Two positives- efficient check in and comfortable bed. BUT- the decor is dated, the room was very hot with and A/ C unit emitting not only a loud noise but a nasty smell. The fridge was very noisy- we had to switch it off. No sound proofing- you hear...

El Tovar is an institution: well located, it offers minimal views on the Grand Canyon from rooms. Service is excellent and hotel is clean, although some carpets need replacement (in the stairways). WiFi is particularly slow, when it works. Beware it is pricey.

You can't beat the location right on the rim of the canyon. No shuttle needed to access many lookouts, restaurants, and shops. Amazing. The room was clean, cozy, and spacious. My parents had a similar room down the hall. The staff were friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed lounging in the mezzanine and cocktail lounge in the evenings. For a...

El Tovar was built in 1905 by Fred Harvey as a way to give wealthy travelers an experience in the west. This place is rustic, but elegant. There are no elevators so you might have to carry your bags to the third floor. The rooms are expensive but they are so worth it. The hotel is built right on the...

It was my first time to the Grand Canyon where we spent the day hiking with our son and daughter-in-law. We spent one night at the El Tovar which did not disappoint. Not only is it right on the rim of the Grand Canyon with a spectacular view steps from our room, but the ambience and warmth of the hotel...

We booked a room for 3 nights at the El Tovar Hotel. We went in expecting the rooms to be on the older side but excited for how close we were to the canyon. For $200 a night, we had a room in the basement with a view of the parking lot. There was one double bed which was way...

What a great experience to stay in this historic, beautiful hotel perched on the edge of the Grand Canyon! The hotel is rustic yet refined and I could picture people traveling by train at the turn of the century to stay here and view the canyon. Our room was basic, comfortable and nicely decorated, which has been my experience with...

My mom, sister & I rode the train up to the South Rim to sightsee. We lunched at the El Tovar and gazed out the windows at the majestic Grand Canyon. The service was impeccable, the portions very generous and the food delicious! I must say, the French Onion soup was done of the best I've ever tasted! We thoroughly...

Grand old hotel with a style fitting for its location on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Must make reservations far in advance. Best place to stay on the southern rim. Good service, clean, log walls, Native American art and accents. Nice shop. Love the rocking chairs on the porches. Location cannot be beat.
