wanted to see the north rim and this is what was available. Cabins looked like kids built the out of lincoln logs. Dusty and old, shower VERY small, carpet dusty and ratty. Room had a double and one twin bed. Small room. Had to wait more than one hour to have porter pick up our stuff at the parking lot...

This review is for the Western Cabins only. The cabin was rustic, large, clean and comfortable. There was also a gas fireplace in the cabin which was handy for our mid-May stay of 3 nights. There were some problems with check-in, which were probably attributable to the fact that the off again / on again May 15th opening left a...

Dirt would taste great in this place because all you can concentrate on is the view! Fortunately, the food was very good. It is a little expensive, but I've never minded supporting the National Parks. I had the Navaho Taco with the beef filling. It was above average. The wait staff was very good but the best was the greeter...

This place was so awesome! The view in this area is phenomenal! Staff are super nice and helpful. The Canyon itself is breath taking. We are planning another trip next year! Beautiful all around trip!

The main building is beautiful. The cabins are adorable and perfectly quaint. The dinner show has great food and live music. If there's a birthday, they will actually do a birthday song for you (it was my birthday), and they give out free cookies at the end. The view is spectacular. It is a drive, so bring distractions as you...

A peaceful and breathtaking place. We had a cabin with a partial view of the canyon, and the view from our porch in the morning was incredible. The cabins are more spacious and modern inside than their exterior makes them appear, and I loved being able to sit in the rocking chair in front with a drink and a book....

Well worth the long drive - much more intimate than the South Rim. Glad that we had a "motel" room facing the back and the trees. No noise and much bigger than the tiny cabins. Very basic accommodations but you are not here for luxury! Booked a year in advance. Surprisingly very good cuisine in the beautiful dining room -...

We stayed at the North Rim Lodge in May of 2016. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is an out of the way part of the Grand Canyon that few first time visitors would venture to see. By car it is a bit over 200 miles and takes roughly 4 hours to drive, depending on your speed and number...

When my family went, it was so cosy and luxurious. If you love your family and you want a good nights sleep, well this is the greatest place for you. When the sun rises over the Canyon and you need to pester your kids to get up, they will automatically get up from a recharge as well as for the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The more remote North Rim offers up its beauty and solitude to those willing to make a little longer trek to cooler temperatures and greener vegetation of the Grand Canyon's less visited rim. Time means little here in this Nirvana for nature lovers…abundant forest beauty and wrap-around scenic splendor as sheer walls hold in the Colorado River a mile below. The only developed lodging within the National Park’s North Rim boundaries this historic treasure has cabins and lodging tucked into the trees and dotting the canyon edge. The historic dining room with wall to ceiling windows gives diners the unique opportunity to take in the Canyon's views and tasteful regional and sustainable delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended. For guests seeking a unique remembrance of their visit to this special place, there is a gift store and convenience store located at the North Rim. Authentic Native American handcrafts, jewelry and merchandise that is U.S.A. made by local and regional artists provide an array of gift items for guests to the Grand Canyon. Smell the pines, listen to the fluttering leaves of quaking aspen, and keep an eye out for a California condor, the largest bird in North America. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is only open from mid May to mid October. ... more   less
