The location is great and so are the prices! Close to the shuttle and to the general store. There's showers at the 'entrance', it is a bit expensive, $2 for 8min. The sites are good sized, every site has a picknick table and a thing...More
We had originally booked a 4 night stay at Mather Campground but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel our last night - the staff at the check-in/registration were extremely helpful and gave us a refund for our cancelled night!

The one next to my plot just parked up but it seemed all the plots were reserved with tents so I don't think it was supposed to be there. Nobody complained from what I saw as it's a quiet campsite and everyone keeps to themselves.

Sorry, but you will have to work through the availability site it appears you are looking at already. That is the only way to make reservations at the Mather Campground. This campground is very popular, books quickly and the availability shown on the website is accurate and up-to-date as of this current moment. Be aware that cancellations do exist now and then, and when that happens they will open up the available camp spot on their website. However, in order to find the spot that just became available you will just have to keep trying each day in hopes that an available site will open up. Likely it will not be next to each other though, but at least you might be able to get a spot for the night. Hope it works for you! It is a great location!
