Having been on a private business trip to Cheshire i decided not to drive the 250 miles back to Kent but stay the night locally. I had Rostherne House already earmarked having by chance met some people a week earlier in Kent who had stayed there and said how relaxing it was and very quiet being in a small village...

We were visting Lyme Park & Dunham Massey Houses and this was an ideal location. Found this B&B via the National Trust web-site. It lived up to the expections as a beautiful Victorian house in a loverly setting. Room & en-suite were large and clean with a very comfortable bed. Owner provided a nice friendly and helpful service with full...

We have travelled extensively around the UK on buying trips (over from New Zealand), and staying at Rostherne House has provided us with the much needed antidote to business accommodation. We've finally been able to experience the famous English hospitality of which we hear so much. The house is located in an idyllic village just outside Knutsford, and the owner...

Set in large beautifully kept grounds, Rostherne House is the perfect peaceful retreat, made all the more welcoming by the lovely Katie, who quite simply could not do enough to accomodate our every need. Delicious breakfast with plenty of variety. Rooms are huge with gorgeous period furnishings. Tatton Park is within walking distance which is great for a morning stroll....

I met a business contact from Singapore at Manchester Airport ( only 15 minutes away) and brought him to Rostherne House for an important meeting. An ideal location, quiet and private , and a wonderful place to recover from Jet Lag. A lovely warm welcome awaiting us, with tea and coffee, and of course a Real Open Log Fire to...

I''m a big advocate of TA and use it frequently to select accommodation etc. I don't like leaving negative reviews and wasn't goiing to write a review for this B&B as I didn't have alot of positive feedback but feel that I couldn't not share our experiences. We chose this B&B from Trip Advisor reviews and for the convenient location...

Management response:

I can quite see why this couple were upset but there are a number of inaccuracies in their review and I will comment on some of them. This couple arrived very late in the day on New Year's Eve, especially given that they had booked to go out to a party in Tatton Park when it would have been necessary...

My company often puts me up in hotels, and this is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were very comfortable to stay in and very spacious. The lady running the hotel was extremely accommodating and very welcoming. There was a great variety to choose from at breakfast an it all tasted great. Unfortunately I...

I have been staying at Rostherne House for two months while working in Knutsford and it has been a delight. The house is beautiful, and perfectly located at an easy walking distance from Tatton Park, while still close to Knutsford and the airport. For me, staying at Rostherne House has been the perfect retreat while starting a new job in...

I wanted a rural location near Hale, giving good access to motorways and the like. This was an excellent B&B which offerd good rooms, a friendly reception and good breakfast. I'd recommend for business or leisure use again.

“Having seen a couple of open doors, i would suggest that the bedrooms are all of a very high standard...certainly mine was, can not see guests being disappointed unless they are uncomfy with the opulant surroundings.”
