Loweswater is a quiet, secluded spot in the western Lakes and the Kirkstile is a haven for those who want to get away from it all. It is a tasteful, traditional inn serving classy food and offering a selection of its own beers in its cosy bar. When the weather is good there's a beautiful beer garden with stunning views... More

We popped in for a quick drink after a walk around stunning Butermere lake. It is a lovely pub (with warm feel and real fire!) serving Loweswater Gold. It was too late for food so cannot comment at this occasion. Maybe next time!

Just out for a sight seeing drive and stumbled on this hidden gem of a pub, fantastic setting, great food and drink! Warm and welcoming. Spanish chap behind bar good fun and great friendly service. We will stay here in the future as the rooms look great. In the middle of no where but a short drive to Keswick or... More

After a lovely walk near Loweswater we called at the Kirkstile Inn and discovered a little gem. Lovely warm welcome from the fire and the staff. Great choice of ales and the best fish finger butty you'll ever taste. A lovely warm, welcoming old inn, that is a must visit for all Lakes lovers.

Visited with friends after walk round Loweswater. We had pre booked and had a table reserved for us. They had kindly let us order the roast dinner for 6 people even though we weren't eating until 6pm. The others had the lamb. All food was exquisite. Cannot fault anything we had. The crumble and custard was to die for. Fantastic... More

Lovely old bar with roaring coal fire, steeped in history. Excellent food and attentive staff a perfect way to end a day on the fells. Then to stumble up to bed in a cosy quaint room with plenty of hot water. What a find,We hope to go back in the next year.Phone reception poor unless you climb a mountain!
