What an amazing little place. If you are looking for 5* accommodation then stop reading now. However, if you are looking for a hotel that has character, is clean, warm and cosy, serves a decent breakfast and has very welcoming staff then read on. Although the hotel is situated outside Reykjavik it is easily accessible with transfers available from the...

Stayed at Hotel Laxnes for 4 nights, was a really nice quiet location away from the city centre. Rooms are very clean and warm. No traffice noise to worry about. The staff at the hotel could not do enough for us whilst we were there and made things very easy for us.

More of a Motel from the 70's or 80's than a modern day Hotel. We arrived having read reviews previously submitted to trip advisor and I must admit we were disappointed. From the reviews we had expected to find an excellent hotel but what we found could only be classed as Average, dare I say dated. The Hotel Management seemed...

A fantastic, quiet, warm and cosy place to stay just outside Reyjavik, with easy access to the golden circle and highway to the south. Very clean rooms, no noise at night ( with the exception of local traffic) and a host of things that are really nice touches: free pool table, hot tub, complementary breakfast with a waffle machine that...

I loved this hotel. It had everything we needed for a great stay in Iceland as it is situated close to Reykjavik but not too close so we could still have beautiful views of the mountains from our room. But don't worry about being out of the city as the bus stop to Reykjavik is right outside the hotel and...

Fantastic help received from Shaun and Katarina to book tours for us before and during our stay. Good breakfast, large and comfortable rooms. Only one quibble - the hotel bills itself as a place from which to see the Northern Lights. This may be true, but the lights would have to be particularly active / strong as there's lots of...

If you want to be situated close to Reykjavik but out of the city and with beautiful views, I would definitely recommend Hotel Laxnes. We arrived to be told that we'd been upgraded to the north facing suite overlooking the mountains with a balcony free of charge. The room was cosy and clean, only slight problem was that the bed...

This was my second time at hotel laxnas and I was not disappointed. I had my two daughters with me and they both said they were glad to be staying here rather than in reykjavik. After driving around reykjavik while dropping people at their hotels which just look onto other hotels or in business centres then see hotel laxnas at...

We were upgraded on the 2nd night to a room with balcony and mountain views, which was fantastic. We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights from our balcony that evening. Shaun the manager was very helpful with advice about the local area, trips out and even liaised with our car hire company for pick up. The bar...
