The inn is perfectly located. My husband is Japanese so he checked us in and translated some of the staff’s tour information for me. We spent one night and I regret that we weren’t here longer! It was nice to choose our own yukata and my husband had fun exploring the owner-curated library. We did not have time to use the onsen. The Kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious and carefully presented. I think 80% of what we ate was grown locally and the dinner included fish, eel, oyster, beef, Japanese vegetables, and more. Wow! The futon and pillows were extremely comfortable and they had a “pillow bar” which we did not use where you could select a pillow of your liking. We didn’t use this feature, but there was also some sort of smartphone in the room that you could use during your stay. I liked the sink area in the bathroom compared to other rooms we’ve stayed in in Japan. I would definitely return to spend more time here! …
My first experience staying at a Ryokan. We had a beautiful spacious room with great views from our window. We enjoyed our first experience of a onsen and felt so refreshed after the hot tub. Loved choosing our own Yukata for our evening meal of Japanese food. The tatami mats were quite comfortable much more so than I expected. The Ryokan is centrally located and within easy reach of most of the island. This was one of my favourite places to visit on our tour to Japan.
I spent one night here and I do recommend staying here. There is limited English at the front desk, but enough to get you in and out. They explain the amenities of the ryokan after you check-in and explain the dinner plan. The room I had is small, but the dinner is reason why I'm here. The lobby restaurant was the location of dinner. It was a kaiseki set and the dishes were brought to my table in small groups. A short explanation (in English) was given for each dish, which was very helpful. My breakfast was included, but I couldn't eat it there because of an early train. Instead, the kitchen was kind enough to prepare two HUGE onigiri for me to take. Now that I think about this, I believe I had Japanese A5 wagyu beef here with my dinner. I left this point out in my earlier review in Arima Onsen. The earlier ryokan is near Kobe, but Kobe beef wasn't on the menu! No beef at all. Couldn't believe it. Anyways... The hot spring was as expected. Nothing out of the ordinary. I would stay here again.…
My wife and I stayed at Kinsuikan for one night as part of a holiday to Japan. On arrival we were checked in by the friendly staff and given a breif tour, allowed to pick our Yukata's and shown to our room where we booked in a time for our dinner which was to be served in the room. The location was excellent and 2 minutes after walking out of the front doors we were at the massive Itsukushima Floating Torii Gate. The dinner was fantastic with an excellent array of Japanesse food being served including sushi, sashimi, Shabu-shabh, oysters and some great duck and beef elements. After dinner the staff agree a time to come a make your bed up which is put on the tatami mats in the main living area. We loved our short stay and would recomend this place to anyone looking for a friendly Ryokan in a great location.…
